5. make sure you tape it back in. it came out on me twice trying to put it up again. 6. the motion is a pulling motion. it was hard to see what he was doing exactly. after being insane amount of caution i figured it out. With this piece if you are using any force you are doing it wrong. Everything went really easy with this video. Just follow his instructions word for word and maybe some of my tips will help. Also thanks a lot screen surgeon you saved my life my final was on this laptop.

Listen to this man. I just fixed my laptop using this exact guide. A couple of tips. 1. use the tweezers. you will need them especially if big hands. 2. the way he popped the bezzel was tough i found it was easier to pop it from the sides. if you look at the width of the screen you will see the crack where you pop it up from. 3. there was an insane amount of tape on mine. Luckily i could use some of that tape later to reattach the video cable. 4. make sure the video cable is all the way in.

No. Aside from the obvious varying sizes there are glossy and non glossy ones. The non-glossy replacement for aspire one is much better than the original glossy one IMO. No annoying reflections, resists cracking, scratching and smudging, wider viewable angle, etc. You just have to make sure the connector is the same, and in the same position, or the cable won't reach and/or fit.

Do an ebay search for the appropriate inverter board. The fail could be the backlight inside the screen itself, but messing with the insides of a screen is for the very technically trained. For most people, replacing the whole screen would be the only choice. Since the inverter fail is more common, though, and that part is way cheaper than the screen, you'd better start there. You would not waste much money if the issue is not there, and you can resell the part anyway.

I think you can, that goo is part of the old screen. Just clean it well and replace the screen, it should be fine. I just replaced a screen like the one in the video and it was a piece of cake, don't be afraid of trying it out yourself. Here in Spain the technician said he would charge about 200 euro (almost the price of a new netbook). I did it myself and it just cost me 50 euros (the price of the screen), and about 20 minutes.

They're all LCD, even the ones that say "LED", seriously, that even goes for TV's. The only difference is the way they're lit, and some picture quality difference/cost. Just make sure it's a compatable replacement for your machine. Take the old screen out BEFORE you order to verify the connector is the same,(40 pin for example) and in the same position (left/right/middle, etc) I recommend the non-glossy ones (if it's glossy it will say so specifically) It's much better in many ways

My model is an Aspire One d250-1026. It has 2 of those rubber pads at the top with screws under them that I undid, and I snapped off the top,and parts of the sides of the bezel, however it seems to be stuck tightly at the bottom of each side. at the bottom corners of my model, there are two black squares, except they're flat hard plastic that are slightly depressed into the frame, where it's stuck. Are there screws under here that I can't see? How do I remove them, or remove the bezel otherwise?

ScreenSurgeons, Thank you very much for this video. The screen install seemed to go fine, but a tiny magnet (1/4" L) fell out when replacing it and the computer no longer powers up. Nothing happens when you press the power button. Is this somehow related to the tiny magnet? Or is it some other issue?

Whats to finish just repeat the steps to put it back together? If you can do that you better not try to replace your screen. I used these laptops as quick/throw away ones when something happens to it. I decided to replace the screen instead of buying a new one. Took me 8 minutes.... if that.

That's not a problem with the keyboard hardware itself. Anyway, Windows 8 was really designed with the latest advanced hardware, massive amounts of RAM and TOUCH screens in mind. Unless you have that it's pointless to upgrade to 8 and if your hardware manufacturer doesn't have updated drivers for 8, you're gonna have problems. If you buy a new computer and/or touch screen then by all means use windows 8. otherwise forget it.
