I had some trouble upgrading the RAM on my Acer V3. It has four slots for memory and I was only using two slots. So I added memory to the other two slots and filled all four slots with memory chips, but the computer wouldn't boot. It wouldn't post, it wouldn't run the OS, it just had a black screen and I had to press and hold power to shut it down. I talk about this issue in this video and how I got 16GB usage on this laptop. Cheers!
Memory type I used is DDR3 PC3-12800
