@20:26, you were unable to play Dark Petition. When the Dungeon triggers, the phrase "you may play them" means that you may cast them during the resolution of the ability. So, you could have cast Rain of Filth before entering the room or with the trigger on the stack so that you would have been able to pay for Petition. However, because you played the land and then cast Rain of Filth, you had finished resolving the Dungeon trigger and would no longer be able to cast Dark Petition. Tl;dr, there were ways to be able to legally cast Dark Petition (which was known to be on top of the library because of the previous scry) but the way it happened in the video violates the rules of Magic. Hopefully this is educational! Thanks for the wonderful videos!

I'm aware, noticed it shortly after - but as you said, I could have sequenced it correctly :)

Hey! Does emrakul fit in some tech in the deck, or is just a way to win?
@bitzelberg
Жыл бұрын
What do you mean by "tech"? As Acererak plays Coffers and a few rituals, there are multiple ways of cheating Emrakul into play earlier. Best occasion that can happen is to have the final room-trigger from the "Dungeon of the Mad Mage" which let's you draw 3 cards of which you can play one of 'em for free :D

As someone, who spent years by playing Izzet decks (and now playing Ghyrson as well), I find this video very educative. It shows us, how NOT TO PLAY Ghyrson.

How comes everyone's judging based on one video? We've even said in the introduction that's it's not the best but most fun version ;)

@@bitzelberg This is the second video with Ghyrson on your channel. Sure, everyone has different angle on "fun" - not meant bad,rly. My Ghyrson has two versions - pinger and aggro. Succes of these version depends on meta. Our meta is very Raffine-ly. I love Ensnaring bridge in pinger version, but pinger version is....kinda slow. Aggro version has to beware of "runing-out of gas". Point is, that Ghyrson is not much a Storm deck.

@@Sheyyen correct, and the other MU was won by Ghyrson :P You gotta look at it from the other side: if you'd search for a UR Storm commandzone, you'd very likely end up with Ghyrson. For a serious approach I'd also recommend to play Tempo, Burn or anything that's less affected by variation. We try to show unconventional approaches every now and then, didn't seem too refreshing to you :( Maybe next time! ;)

@@bitzelberg I have to admit, that you are right :-D Many players are trying to build Ghyrson Storm, idea of Git.Probe+Gut Shot + some cantrips with Grape Shot is very,very tempting. Ussually adding mana rocks to achieve lots of mana (on other hand - I like mana rocks only in pure-control decks :D ). An advantage of deckbuilding is also a disadvantage, because Ghyrson offers soooo much options, that is difficult to choose "the right ones" - only time and lot of test matches show you "The way". We had intentionally dozens of mirror matchups (and other Ghyrs players should do the same, because of popularity of this General - you will face him very often). So through this intentional mirrors - we have a saying : Have a face like a control, and raid as a goblin.

I agree. Player piloted Ghyrson poorly. Strong opening hands but did not navigate the game well especially he knows well he's playing against Monoblack

Honestly, Ghyrsson Storm seems like a horrible shell for the card.
@johnplusart

Agreed... But I think it's more fun compared to the typical agro burn or tempo. :) Do you have a list for Ghyrsson that we can see?
@bitzelberg
Жыл бұрын
It's not horrible, it's decent. Definitely below the powerlevel of what Ghyrson can enable w/ different strategies, that's for sure! Apart from that, Acererak is in a pretty good spot in that MU ;)
@pacienciaman
Жыл бұрын
@@bitzelberg I guess where you see powerlevel potential, let's call it, I see convoluted ways to lose games. There's very little space, especially in UR, to be usaing GAMBLE of all things and just end up daying to Kari Zev. It may work well in the European meta, but there's definitely no space for those shennannigans here in Brazil hahhaha
@bitzelberg

@@pacienciaman I think you're missing a point here: IF there's a commandzone to play UR Storm, Ghyrson comes closest to do so. If I'm talking about powerful approaches on Ghyrson I think of Tempo, Burn or something in that direction - noone said this deck is capable of running a serious tournament ;)
