The amped up tones you get in your videos are phenomenal, regardless of how much you work dialing it in. Those tones are far better than these digital offerings.

Hey Kyle. I know you’re getting into mixing a lot more here recently. Nice to see this development. My question to you is, have you been reamping? I mean, you have one of the largest high gain amp collections on the planet. I feel like there is a career to be had just in reamp services alone. For the record, I’m not asking for myself. I just feel like this is a rare opportunity. Not a whole lot of people have ALL the amps and cabs at their disposal. Who knows maybe I would use the service eventually just to hear how my material would sound through specific cabs as you already have the main amp I use (big surprise there lol). I would do this if I were cab shopping though. Just saying if you’re not already doing this, it would be a pretty cool idea. May bring in a few extra dollars for ya too.

How many of those cabs are loaded with V30's though? Need more options.
@smeemusic
4 ай бұрын
@@vorpalblades yes BUT!!!!! 2 v30’s just 1 serial number off from each other can sound very different. Also the cab you put them in can change to tone of the speaker dramatically as well. For example I have an Engl 412 pro from 2003. It sounds fantastic but a bit bright. I decided to try the same speaker I mic up in my Engl cab in my iso cab. In my iso cab the speaker sounds much larger. More bottom end. And sure the nature of an iso cab can make a speaker sound more boomy but that kinda proves my point. But I did take it further and opened the lid and it still had a larger bass response than in my Engl cab. I then swapped it all back to the way it was before and tried my iso cab with the original v30 (purchased new in 2020) and yeah that v30 sounds massively different than my Engl cab v30 even in the iso. Moral of the story is all speakers have a different sound from each other and the sound changes further from cab to cab with the same speaker. While I find this information technically useful I still haven’t been able to put it all to use with a scientific approach. As in I know I like my v30’s in my Engl cab but I’d like it to be a touch darker. More low mids maybe. But I wouldn’t know what speaker to try. A speaker advertised as having more low mids and less top end than a v30 may act completely different than expected depending on the cab I put it in. Granted it may have those qualities vs a v30 in any one given cab, it’s still impossible to know EXACTLY what a speaker is gonna do in a cab until you try it in practice. This makes me hesitant to try any new speakers as I’m fairly poor and I have to be certain of my purchases or else I may be just wasting money. $150 that I end up not using is a massive blow for me ya kno. So for now I just stick with my v30’s and an eq in my fx loop to shape what my amp can’t on its own.

This looks more like a silly free plugin than one worth $169. AcmeBarGig and Eugeny Dechennko Pedals are free and much more straightforward with superb results. *I'm not against paying for guitar suites, but I for $169? No way Jose!* I would buy a Valeton or Zoom floor unit instead. As it is, I'm working on a transistor fuzz that sounds more tubes than tubes do, and hope by the end of this year to have a fully digital version of the same machine built around Arduino hardware, but both in commercial worthy packages. *If my education in engineering were what I had hoped it would be, I would pursue building an Arduino based system an application that allows you to isolate code from Guitar plugin suites and download them into a floor processer.* Then, buying even a 350 or $500 guitar plugin suite would be worth it because some give you dozens of amps and dozens of pedals in clear form indicating which they are modeling. We're both on the shore of Lake Erie, so maybe I'll start mailing you some gear for free to demo. I'll have a fairly elaborate transistor fuzz completed ideally by the end of the month(1 month behind schedule) but it's going to be jam packed with features making it more of a preamp.

@@belligerentamateur it's always a real thing, it's sitting in the room next to me and well into development. I'm not some half baked rube that builds clones and charges 500 dollars for them lol. *I've been doing this for 20 years and went to college for the science 13 years ago, my equipment will be finished and ready to demo within a couple weeks.* I wouldn't send you one to demo in an actual video, but just to get another opinion.
