Hello! Welcome to Ortubia Expressionism. In this video I will show you how to print a work combining monotype and woodcut, specifically the piece "Eagle". We will use a yellow monotype and a black woodcut. I have decided to make six additional copies due to high demand. I will use 112 x 76 cm super alpha paper.
First, we prepare everything we need: ink glasses, bottles of yellow and black ink, rollers and acetate. We applied an even layer of yellow ink to the acetate, making sure to cover all areas without leaving any clumps. Then, we adjust the pressure of the torculum for the xylography, going from a pressure of 2 for the acetate to 4 for the xylography.
The black woodcut is printed on the yellow monotype, taking care that there are no errors or areas without ink. Finally, we apply gestures with acrylic to add a unique touch to each print. The result is a balanced and expressive work.
