We finished last week with a discussion of plantar fasciitis. You’re going to want to watch that video for reference of the foot types and some of the exercises we used as they will also be useful here.
This one goes a little deeper into the compressive strategy that may lead to Achilles issues (and other tendon problems), so we can understand the “why” behind the approach to resolve this result.

From John:
Hey Bill,
Thanks again for all the great content. I have been seeing alot of individuals with achilles pain as of late in different foot presentations (people with feet that appear closer(pronated foot - everted calcaneus) and farther away(supinated foot -inverted calcaneus) from max propulsion. Calf raising is often used with individuals to influence tendon properties - however it seems that this could create interference with someone who is biased towards late propulsion. How does your strategy change depending on the individuals foot type? Any other considerations for achilles tendon pain?
