Gosh, I had to get a copy of that book just so I can look at all of the beautiful patterns! Enjoy what you do and how you do it! We put too much pressure on ourselves to perform at work and home and in retirement. I have been steadily working on changing that habit since I retired. You are inspiring all of us and we really appreciate it.

The visit to Acorns and Threads makes me miss my LNS.... It's an hour away and I have only been once since covid began :(. The new variant is terrible here but hopefully after it goes back down, I will be able to make a visit. You are so right about all the funny labels people have come up with for types of stitchers. Honestly, there would almost have to be a name for nearly everyone who stitches because we are all so unique. Take care and thank you for the visit. :)

Fall is my favourite time of year. I just wish it lasted a lot longer. I am definitely in the Halloween stitching and quilting mood. Just finishing the free Halloween quilt along with Fat Quarter Shop called Bats and Boos. So adorable. They have a free cross stitch chart that goes with the quilt. (Spoke too soon. Just heard you talk about the Bats and Boos.). Need to start that next.

Aren’t those used book sellers just the best! What a wonderful world that we can just go online and find a book from who knows when in some far off city and have it in our mailbox in a few days! It can be a terrible temptation too! I have made myself stop and wait till the next day before ordering a book just to be sure it is not a momentary whim. I use Alibris a lot and have been very pleased with their service. That small fall project bag is just the loveliest one I have seen recently. That fabric is gorgeous. No wonder it came home with you!!! Walking into Acorns and Threads would overwhelm me. I would not know where to start or how to decide what FEW things I would buy! Fortunately it isn’t nearby!!!! Had my granddaughter come stay for the weekend..she drove up Friday morning and left this afternoon..so fun to have her ..she just cracks us up. She likes seeing all my projects. When she was little she would come in my sewing room and lay under my sewing table and color and watch Hallmark movies. Then she learned to sew and would make doll clothes and she even made her dad a blanket. She did a small cross stitch years ago..and she was thinking about maybe finding a kit..lol she is a definite serial starter type. Thanks for the visit. 😀

You were talking about not to get ofended about the term "oriental". And I tought I will like to share something about that in my country. At Costa Rica we don't care too much about your background. We like it as a cultural thing to learn, but not for separation, critics or differences. After 3 months living here, you are a Costarican. And the funny thing is that in Spanish the word Chinese is Chino. Well everybody who has chinese eyes it's a Chino or China for country slang. And no matter the person is Japanese, Korean, or even totally hispanic...if your eyes have that shape then the people calls you Chino or China. No offend intended and nobody gets offended. And something similar happens with the color. Here we used the word blank (Negro) for black people and nobody gets offended. And even funnier for example a Dad can call his daugther Negra in a loving way and the girl is totally white. This is Costa Rica we are totally inclusive.
