This is so exciting! I LOVE the OG Transacoustics and this adds almost all of the features I wish it had. Not sure I love losing the ability to swap batteries instead of charging, though. And though it isn't a deal-breaker, I don't love the lack of fret markers.

As many others have commented Lag guitars have already done this a while back with the Hyvibe. I have had my Lag for a while now and it's a great guitar. As with the Yamaha, you don't have to use the effects, but when they are added, it is direct through the body of the guitar - no amp/PA required, just the guitar. Not surer about the Yamaha, but the Lag allows you to put effects pedals in the loop. I have used a EHX Mel 9 in the loop to create some really interesting soundscapes. Its worth going to try the Yamaha or the Lag and see/hear for yourself how cool this is.

This is really cool and sounds great! The features are insane and really well integrated too! Only issue I have with these kind of products is no matter how well implemented it is in the back of your mind you know in a few years there'll be a new version that is objectively better and probably for around the same price.. even though it shouldn't be a factor because it's a really good instrument now and will be in the future and a better one being available wont make this one worse

There's a transducer (speaker 🔊 without the speaker cone) that's rigged up, its permanently attached to the inside back panel of the body and vibrates the body wood like a speaker. This new version has 2 transducers in it. I have the original version and it really does sound that loud and clean. If I hit a bass note I can feel the body vibrating. These new ones are better from what I've seen since there's all that extra functionality and the onboard effects sound better imo, just more tight and clean. This one having prob a bigger battery and having it built in is a game changer. The app extendability is also very cool. The ability to jam with yourself is prob the top selling point of this one.
