I dose kalkwasser from my gravity ATO into my sump. Have to clean the float valve maybe every week and a half.

Hey good video! but I thought kalkwasser should be in a closed container once mixed so it stays potent and doesnt mix with co2 in air, right?
@ReefUnderTheRoof

Yes. Justin is dosing so much that he is constantly adding. I have mine in a reactor

Max saturation is 2 tsp of Kalk for 1Gallon. I do 4 tsp for 2 Gallons. So when he says its a slurry for 1 TBSP (=3 tsp) for 2 Gallons, I'm scratching my head, that's not even max saturation. I thought slurry was over the saturation point, or am I mistaken?

He is dosing everything, not just the clear liquid. Propeller on his kalk reactor is spinning pretty fast!

0.18 phosphates?!? Isn’t that considered really high?
@ReefUnderTheRoof

Not really high, but little bit higher then usual. I keep mine between 0,03-0,1.

1 tablespoon per 2 gallons is not even at the kalk saturation limit. I’m assuming he meant something else?
@ReefUnderTheRoof
Жыл бұрын
2 tsp per gallon is usually maximum. Around 3 tsp is 1 tbsp. And he is dosing everything into his tank. That stirrer is mixing pretty fast.
@Vdeez
Жыл бұрын
@@ReefUnderTheRoof he’s doing 1 tablespoon per 2 gallons. That’s 0.5 tablespoons which is 1.5 tsp per gallon. Saturation is at 2 tsp per gallon.

@@Vdeez Yeah, his concentration isn't high, but he is dosing everything and he is adding fresh kalk constantly. It's working for him for sure... His corals look awesome!
