In this lesson:
The kind of acting work that you are most likely to be paid for lives in the "sweet spot" of overlap between your identity/ies, lived experience, personality, etc (Essence), the kind of work that you can perform skillfully in a way that fits the story+style and seems easy/natural/honest (Ease), and the assumptions that folks make about you based on what you look and sound like on camera and how those assumptions fit with existing stereotypes and conventions in film and television (Type). Detailed discussion, and review of the first five seconds of a range of self-tapes submitted by students for concrete examples.
(Thank you to the brave actors who shared with us today!🙏🏻)
