why did nintendo waste their money on omnisphere when they could have just used delay lama?

I'm late but I'm going to reply anyway. Delay Lama is a VST3 plugin, the Splatoon soundtrack was made in Logic, Logic doesn't support VST3 hence why they use Omnisphere.

I know it's from Omnisphere, but they do sound similar a lot. I heard people who made Delay Lama helped in Omnisphere too, and it shows.

@@captainbozo01After googling "Omnisphere Delay Lama", you can actually find a couple of pictures that show exactly what you're talking about! With how similar they sound, and with this little fact, that makes them literally the same. For all intents and purposes, Nintendo did in fact use Delay Lama.

I knew it was used! And it fits the lore, on one of the levels in the background we see some error windows, which suspiciously look similar to the ones on Windows OSes, and im sure one of the music bands use a Nintendo DS for music. So wouldn't whoever made this music on the Splatoon universe use one of those computers with delay lama to make this music?

Unfortunately upon further investigation it wasn't delay lama but an omnisphere preset 😅 They do sound very alike and i got very close with some eq. It is and always will be delay lama for me lol

@@mcguinnsbook I'll go into a little more detail to combat that. First, here's the video showcasing the omnisphere preset (just with inaccurate automation) kzitem.info/news/bejne/rIF50Y6goIF3p5w Second, delay Lama has a very standout problem which is that the sliding is not smooth at all. This is due to the plugin being old and there being a very low amount of audio files for the sound. If you listen to the actual track the sliding from vowel to vowel is very smooth. Also it would make way more sense for a big company like Nintendo to use a well renowned plugin like omnisphere (which they already used for lots of other sounds like the signature burp for example.) This is off the top of my head but it's the most important of the whole thing.

For composing usually Logic Pro (Toru Minegishi, Shiho Fujii) or Cubase (Ryo Nagamatsu, Toshiyuki Sudo). They are identified through their use of stock libraries. In the Nintendo Japanese recruitment site, Cubase is shown in an office cubicle while Pro Tools appears in the recording studio
