This is exactly the video I was searching for.. FOUR years after you posted it! I’m glad it was the first one that popped up… So it’s still doing is thing! 😎 Got my eye on one of these on flea bay right now, and this video just what the doctor ordered! Thanks man. I saw ratings of 200 lb, 4000-5000 cu in. Been looking at haversacks for bushcraft, but I prefer something a bit more versatile. This fits the bill, especially providing the versatility of the molle system. As of late, I unexpectedly began to acquire some basic military items, ie Cammenga 3H, Ames digger, water bottle/molle pouch, wool blanket… etc Think I know which direction to go now. Very helpful, informative, no bs video 👍 Thanks dude!

Did you get it, and if so do like it?? I ordered a 3 day assault pack for a work bag, and then a large ruck and frame and sustainment pouches off of fleabay. I wanted a bombproof, modular, beater pack for taking the wife and kids camping and for fly and ice fishing.

@@whiteyfisk9769No not yet 😒Still sitting in my fleabay watch tho. Haven’t had the need for it just yet. Focusing on more immediate needs… ie picked up a couple GI self inflating sleeping pads and matching foam, and few other small military items. It’s a slow build in between the car repairs, appliance repairs, etc 😂. But realizing that commercial gear is cool.. however military gear is robust. So it’s been a slow change over. I’m glad I didn’t go over board, but still, I have a small fortune in gear that is gradually being weeded out. Wish I had simply gone this route at the onset. But like everyone else, we get pulled into things by all the marketing hoo haa 🙄 I have a couple commercial military “style” packs.. again, quality is not there. Eventually it’s going to catch up. But for the moment, they are doing the job 👍

Great series on what I'm amazed isn't a much more popular bag from a military surplus perspective! Whoever was issued mine must have had a last name that started in H cuz they adorned every component with a big red magic markered H. So I attached a patch from my hunt club over the one on the top flap and voila'! no more visible markings! All the components on mine came in excellent working condition. Outstanding load carrying ability. Looking forward to hearing more about you travels with yours. Obviously you served so thank you for your service. God Bless America! Off pheasant hunting this AM.

I know. I was looking for a frame and straps and everything for my large Alice lc1 pack and started seeing full acu with frame straps and everything for 50$ on eBay. Just a bare frame for my Alice is around 60$ then 20 for the kidney pad and another 30 for the shoulder straps. I'm definitely getting the molle instead. A lot more padding and doesn't have the huge bulky aluminum frame for less than half the price. I'll probably try to sell my alice

I have the large Molle ll pack and I love it. I like to go winter camping and I have an extreme cold weather sleeping bag (OD green) and this thing takes up almost half the pack so I actually use the top half as my sleep system storage. Plus the sleeping bag is kind of heavy so putting it on top helps with the weight. Where I go I don't need a map, so I actually use that pocket for dirty laundry.

Thanks for the video! It's an awesome rucksack! I picked it up for $50 Canadian. I'm going to use it to keep my work gear organized and my emergency sleep system in the bottom pouch.

I realized I am late to your video. I am considering purchasing a MOLLE II rucksack off of eBay. I am wondering about carrying a jackery Explorer 500. it weighs approximately 14 lb. if you are going to carry a 14lb battery in your rucksack where would you put it? Up high? Down low? Or in the middle?
