The Adagio from Mozart's clarinet concerto is sublime - I've had a soft spot for this piece since the film "Conversations with My Gardener", and pretty regularly play an arrangement of it for string quartet at gigs. I considered "arranging" it, but it seemed a bit pointless really, so I went the next step and working largely from the solo part largely reinvented the accompanying parts. As the arrangement progresses, it diverges further and further from the original piece, finishing with a warm "bath" of the opening motif worked as a sort-of canon from which a cadential figure emerges.
