Who else in 1981 could've totally carried off a cape like Adam Ant did? The look was so new and fresh. And the music was great! This song entered the British charts at #1 and stayed there for five weeks! Long Live ADAM AND THE ANTS!!

And I also agree that just because lip-synching is being used, it takes nothing away from Adam's massive on-stage persona and incredible talent. He always was, and still is, one of the greatest showmen in the music industry: his performance here proves that, lip-synching or not, he has talent, energy, style, class and elegance which most artists can only dream of possessing.

THE CROWD WENT So 'CRAZY',and we went NUTS. It was THE Most Killer Day of my life. I actually remember watching this very episode back in 1981 when I was just 13. We'd never seen anything like it - I was totally mesmerized!! It was just the start of what was then known as the British invasion. By 1982, New Wave had kicked off proper and everything changed - it was such an exciting time. :)

This recording is better than others i have seen on Utube. The sound is closer to the power of the song as i remember it. Good base. Most of the other examples i have listened too on Utube are tinny accentuating the voice of the singers and undermining the instruments.

AATA always were a class act. They did get a unfair hard time and the genius all-round great sound look and freshness never got the accolade it deserved. Sooo unfair I believe cos they were a good looking bunch of guy the 'industry' took a dislike to them. I think now though the music and the men are being appreciated more. I'm 44 still love ANTMUSIC and The man himself. AM4SP

I saw these guys at "Le Club Montreal" In April 1981 when I was 15 ... To this day, possibly the best concert I have ever seen. I heard a clip at the end about what was coming next.... The Plasmatics????

"Adam & the Ants" are a very funny "Punk`n´Wave" Band! I do like them very much! In the Year 1978/79 i heard them at the first time, on one of our "Schoolpartys", (Kiel, Germany) as a little 13/14Years old Teenie! The song: "Stand & Diliver" had animated me, to be one of the first ones, going on the "Danceflour" during this time! It had been a wounderful Party, "Blondie- Heart of Glass", "Gary Numan- Are friends electric?", etc.!! ;O)...:O)...

I remember hot chicks in my school having serious problems with Adam and the Ants. But I lived in the moment -- I adored this stuff - I ate it up. It was also the best video on MTV - hell, it defined it. As for Triumph and Asia? LOL.. must you ask?

I was looking for the original music video of this, they took it down. A good but not great song, this is fantastic as AA is such an electrifying performer that its almost hypnotic! There is just no way you can have some effete guy in a corny pirate getup sell this unless he's got a real gift! Its as though were being taken prisoner aboard ship under the Jolly Roger and methodically tortured with charisma while sailing into the sunset on a sea of penultimate 80's cool!!

OMG! I was barely in junior high and that was the last time I saw this one! I remember we were at the dinner table watching Solid Mold and they Marilyn and Rex introduced Adam and the Ants. I just remember sitting there eating and specifically saying, "I like Adam and the Ants!"
