Adam Cianciarulo will retire at the end of 2024 Monster Energy Supercross: he will not start Pro Motocross or the SuperMotocross World Championship events at the end of the current year. Cianciarulo exits the motocross space with 11 Supercross victories, 25 Supercross podiums, nine motocross victories, and 23 motocross podiums. In addition, he won the 2019 Monster Energy Cup and exists at the winningest rider in the history of Loretta Lynn's AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship.
Kawasaki has housed Adam Cianciarulo for more than 20 years and created suitable fanfare around today's retirement announcement, which had been long rumored. There are five more races on the dock for Cianciarulo: Foxborough, Nashville, Philadelphia, Denver, and Salt Lake City. Those pose an opportunity for him to return to the 450SX podium that he has not graced since Denver on May 06 of 2023. All being well, he will conclude his professional career in Utah with 80 career starts in the Monster Energy Supercross series. Adding to his four podiums in the premier class would, of course, be a fitting send-off for one of the most fascinating talents in recent memory.
Michael Lindsay reflects on the Adam Cianciarulo news in this Vital MX video.
