Tommy's solo's are so off the chain and so incredibly musical that it excites my brain in the way a a really great singer can make every hair stand up on my body. He is special to say the least.

the best thing about these two is not that they are incredible guitar players but that they look like they are genuinely buzzing everytime they play!

Tommy often takes my breath away. Went to a concert of his last week. I actually felt like I had run a marathon, just listening to him.. He's that good! In fact that night I'll bet there were 1,500 ex guitar players in the audience. hahahaha!

Have you ever seen a funkier duo on the guitar? I would like to see both of them record together when they are in Nashville next July at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society annual meeting... what kind of musical greatness would come out of THAT studio? :-) This is the 2nd time they have played together this year, and I certainly hope it will be a regular thing from now on... AR learns so much from TE, and TE (i think!) has learned a little from AR too -- they compliment each other!

I just got a guitar a week ago and am starting today. Can someone explain how to tune it and also if you have it please send me the tablature that the guy on the right is playing in the above video. I should be ready to learn it by the end of the day If I can just get somebody to show me how to tune this thing. Also where can I buy one of those plastic things the guys have on their right thumbs.

@revedmusic I doubt VERY much that you would be able to learn this in a day with no previous guitar learning. The tuning that most people use is the standard E-A-D-G-B-E, starting from the top string and going downwards. The plastic things on their thumbs is called a thumbpick. You should be able to get one from a decent store that sells guitars. and stuff. You could ask about how to tune it when you buy the thumbpick, either get someone to do it for you or they will explain.

oh and also there are plenty of youtube videos showing you how tune your guitar. How about for now you just look up a beginner guitar lesson should be plenty, and they should show you some basic cord G,D,C,A ect. but they also will probably have some simple finger, picking and strumming exercises, but i will be there first to tell you its not gonna be a one day thing, to be good you gotta love it! Never stop playing!!!

Sorry I thought I was being funny making out that I was totally naive about what it would take to learn to play like TE. Especially when I said I didn't know who the guy on the right was and implying that I expected to be able to play like him as soon as I learn to tune and find out what "the thing on their thumbs is. If you check my channel you will see that I give guitar lessons there. Sorry -I was trying to get people to laugh by pretending to be very naive. I can see it did not work. sorry

I thought I was making a joke, you know -not knowing who TE is and expecting to be able to play like he does as soon as I learn to tune a guitar. Evidently people took it as a serious comment. If you check my channel you will see that I teach guitar. I guess I was not that funny.

dude if you just got a guitar than you dont need to be learning this song right yet maybe just the chords but all the stuff you hear in this video is professionally played iv been playing guitar for 14 years and still cant play some of the stuff tommy was playing. My suggestion to you is learn the simple cords and learn ABOUT the guitar instead of learning just how to play, in the long run knowing it will help you 30 times more than just knowing how to play.
