My mom seemed a little shook up. Now that I'm a grown man in early 50's. I get it now mom. Two young men. Going in to manhood. Where pops really should show us the ropes. Show us manhood on a adult level. He passes on and now all on you to be strong . The mother and father . Didn't always give you the best time. Now. There are no words or nothing that can be done to say thank you. You did excellent. the strongest person I know. Man or woman . Ryan Reynolds and cast/crew One of the best scenes in movie history. "My husband had a jacket just like that one." Yes, he did. *Just* like that one. Literally could not be more like that one. Husband (researching time travel) dies in car wreck. Man in bar wearing a jacket just like her husband's says "boys always come back for their mamas" (not come back *to* their mamas, but *come back for* their mamas). Man leaves bar saying "he (your son) loves you more than he knows" (who in the world could know that except the same person, with the luxury of hindsight into his younger self's experience?). She puts all the pieces together about two seconds too late.

I think he was getting the feeling she was catching on, and wanted to leave before she confronted him. Still, I think he wanted her to know for sure when there was a subtle, "I'll see you later" and the final sentence he said to her. It would've been nice however to see the actual realization. This scene reminds me of "The time traveler's wife" where the main character meets his mom again. Check it out if you don't know about it.
