wow, strange to hear the original - this became an immortal reggae standard in the late 60's/early 70's, covered by many greats such as Slim Smith, John Holt, Delroy Wilson, Dennis Brown......

This is the Epic Records version. The first (more primitive) recording was on Centuran Records, sung by Adam at a higher register and songwriting credited only to Hal David. Clearly, that song has Bachrach's touch in it. I have no doubt that both wrote it together. This, more common version, is better in my opinion. I think it's Adam's best recording.

I have it. It's on Epic 9566. The flip indeed is "Don't Let Me Cross Over".

Anybody have this on 45 vinyl? What's on the flip side? One version had "Don't Let Me Cross Over (Love's cheating line)". It was a great rendition. I'd like to find it.

This is great. Seems to have a bit of Northern Soul?
