Those X18's have an extremely poor buildin wifi router. Don't know why Behringer had to cheap out that much on an other wise great product for the price tag. Not sure if the Midas versions is the same problem but all say to set aside some money for an outboard router. Great video cause that's the only problem with these software controlled mixers, if the connection somehow fails your screwed. I get why some are scared to go with a product that have no tactile interaction if your wifi suddenly don't work

@@pierreluniere You should be able to just turn the buildin wifi router off and buy a wifi router and connect it via the Ethernet port on the back just like you can connect a laptop directly. I don’t have personly experience with these mixers other than seen the xr18 in action and was pretty amazed about the ammount of features for the price. But I have tried to convince my band to go with a Presonus Studiolive rackmount mixer which works much like these by using either a mobile app or pc/Mac software just with a reliable buildin wifi. We use the Soundcraft 24 channel and we’ve been using just the internal built in router inside the Soundcraft mixer. Anyone else use theirs this way? We have been thinking of just going direct. What is the point of having both? Why would you need the wireless if you have it plugged directly? It seems like they would compete for control. These may sound like stupid questions and I apologize but I not really run the sound, just end up buying everything for the band. Great video and I’m looking forward to any answers.

Had my xr18 for less than a year and i’m confused if mixing station is really that much better. Unpopular opinion: i’m honestly really happy with xair edit for ipad. But everyone on the internet seems to prefer it. Xair has customizable layers and colors and stuff. What am i missing?

Mixing station is amazing because the layout is the same for my x32 or my x18, which itself is amazing to not have to switch between the apps. Can @Scott Uhl or anyone else here give me a little direction on using this adapter?I've gotten two of them and still haven't managed to get either of them to work. Do I have to change any settings in the mix station app or is it as simple as plugging the Ethernet port in my XR-16 through the Ethernet/USB adapter into my tablet and opening the app? WiFi setting are off right because are being bypassed?

@@ScottUhlMusic Does it still need to be plugged in to the router? I saw on a forum someone saying that the router will communicate the IP addresses otherwise without the XAIR-16 and the tablet won't communicate properly. 🤷🏽 It could be my tablet. It's an Amazon Fire Tablet which the OS is super basic.

@scottuhlmusic It's my OS in my tablet. It's an Amazon Fire Tablet and it's garbage so it can't recognize the adapter.

Maybe I'm a nerd, but I always find it funny that people call these "adapters" or "converters" while it's a network card in a tiny box. It's like calling an audio interface '1/4" to USB adapter' and that's how it sounds like to me.

To be able to connect directly from a tablet/phone, don't you need to assign a fixed IP address to the XR18? By default it expects DHCP, and this does not seem to work for me if I connect my phone directly to the Ethernet port.

I didn’t need to assign anything specific like that for mine. Mixing station is great like that 👍

Yup, KZitem is AWFUL, and I mean AWFUL at catching these. It’s so painfully obvious when they do it… and that’s why I have to say in basically all of my videos to not fall for scammers and I will “never ever ever ever EVER ask you for money.” I try to delete them when I see them, but I cannot catch all of them since they are bots. I’m doing my best. I despise scammers
