A basic, practical and useful video. I like to use an I2C interface with my display projects to simplify the wiring as it reduces the number of GPIO connections for the display.Thanks for the useful video. WOW the Learning Circuit site is a great resource I wish I had known about it when I first brought my Arduino and Soldering Iron.

Did I miss something or did he gloss over the rest of the wiring? The important part.

There is no passion in this anymore. Ben heck was passionate about his projects but it s now went a very "clinical" way with no emotion or excitement. Also a more in depth aspect is missing..... I would suggest changing some values on the graphics display or showing a graphic and how to do it would have assisted in this video instead of it feeling as though you just plugged in hardware and uploaded code

I agree. These short explanation/tutorial type videos are pretty far off from the fun multi-step projects that Ben did.

Depends on the host, I think. For me, two of them have a good mix of technical skill and charisma, while the other two seem to only have the technical skill.

@@johnhdn2667 it's not really..... Its nothing more than a very Basic (and I mean basic) walk through of how to hook an lcd to a breadboard and run a sketch. What about how to upload... How to change the graphics.... Its nothing more than hooking hardware up to a breadboard... Ben had charisma but its not about that... There's no captivating in this and it dis not make me want to do a project. Professional chritasism is helpful if taken in a growth way... But most ppl are bitter about it.

To be fair, the "Learning Circuit" has been a very beginner-level series, previously with Karen. So it isn't intended to be full project like Ben would do.

@@Retromags_Brian I just went back and found the announcement. I missed it because I wasnt interested in any of the side videos or the last Ben heck project, so I hadn't seen any of his videos in months. It's a damn shame because most of Ben hacks projects were very fascinating

No flux when soldering?
@wd-bs4xz

Anthony Hernandez Solder has some flux in it. Unless you’re soldering surface mount it really isn’t needed. It is nice though.

I see in the examples of soldering the ends first, the solder was struggling to stick, a little flux would have made it much faster, and requiring less time exposing the pins to heat. Just pointed it out that in this case the flux would have been a large benefit.
