hi, thank you very much for your help. I need to do an habitat suitability model for a species, using at least the elevation, the slope, the ruggedness (some other aspect have to be evaluated). It is just to predict where The species could be present, build a grid and select cells with a certain elevation (i.e. 2200 m), slope (i.e. 4%) and ruggedness. In those cells I will do a number of interviews for an interview based occupancy modeling. Starting from a DEM, I should get all my layer, build the attribute table and from there select the minimum threshold for each layer. I did a shp file of the contour as you suggested and it come out with the attribute table. But the slope does not come with the attribute table. So How can I extract the single band from the slope layer? I got the composite band but it is not enough to get the attribute table. Do you have any solution and suggestion to my issue? Many thanks in advances. Best regards, Claudio

what I would like to get is a selection of cells 15x15 (from a fishnet), which have at least a certain percentage of area with an elevation over 2400 m and a slope over 4% etc, for the other features. All starting from a DEM I downloaded.

Hi,Hi, there is an option to create slope map in ArcGIS. However since you have o incorporate a few conditions, I would suggest you to use, raster calculator in ArcGIS. Where you can calculate and fill individual pixels of your DEM using specific formula (like slope formula).

Thank you very much! So that I think should be done selecting by attribute, can be done directly using the raster calculator! Great!

i have overlaid different thematic map layers in fuzzy overlay process and generated landslide susceptibility map. When i put the raster layer into 'build raster attribute table' dialogue box, i found an error. As the layer source shows one band despite this it gives error. How i could solve the problem???

Hello sir. I have ASTER DEM which has attribute table. But when I prepared slope (in degree) it does not have the attribute table. I tried this method to build attribute table. But when I select the data error occurs as"only single band integer raster dataset is a valid input" . sir plz help me.

Hey, do you work on Qgis? I'm doing an internship and my supervisor asked me to transform a csv file into a raster and honestly have no idea what he's talking about since i have no idea about QGis.

In table you have an option to remove decimal points. If you want to change dtat type itself, it has to be done in the image processing level itself.

No problem! Open the tif file in R, convert it into a data frame, and then export the band that you want to csv.

I believe that my raster has only 1 band but get the same error when I try to import it. Can you do a video on how to figure out how many bands you have and if so how to create a single band from a tif.

Did you manage to work this out? I have found out that I do have a single band but as my pixels are "floating" I get that error. I cant work out how to not have floating pixels in my raster to extract the table

hello sir, I am currently a student of M.tech cse and for my dessertation i am thinking to select GIS as my topic. As i don't know anything about arcGIS .Is it a good idea ? I am confused a lot please help.

Hi, It is a good idea, but may not be very easy. For GIS it is always better to have strong idea on geography. In addition you will be needed to learn GIS software as well. If you feel you can dedicate good amount of time, you can do it.

Hi, For GIS may have to attend classes physically. Else it might be difficult to conceptualise. Ya, there are online courses. But I do not think that's enough.
