For your next project look into using a love-joy coupler on hydraulic pump eliminating v belt and adjustment. If possible adapter plate off of shroud mounting bolts, one time alignment. Also maybe pipe instead of hydraulic hose for long and non articulating joints. It does get expensive, nice job, good luck

Hosed. Probably TSC would be your best bet for hydraulic hoses, where ever you're able to use generic length hoses. They come with pipe thread, but TSC also has adapters to fit whatever. Love your music, by the way!

A better way to attach a shaft would be to make all your flange parts (preferably picking up the 3 bolts that hold the fan on) and then have the centre of the shaft bored and a counter bore in the end so a socket head cap screw/bolt could go down the middle of it to retain the lot to the cranshaft including the flywheel.

That may do just hope you never got to take the flywheel off cuz you just going to lock in the bolt where you can't get to the bolt

When you weld that shaft into that sleeve you will NOT be able to take the flywheel bolt out or even tighten it! You should plan for that. there will be alot of vibration when using machine.

i would recommend removing the long expensive hydraulic hoses and replace them with permenant hydraulic pipes with short hoses at the ends (Saves on the costs of new expensive hoses for the future replacement)

To late but Im with the community you would have been better of to use the 3 bolts to hold on that shaft so you could access the fly wheel bolt. But I understand wanting to get it working I often do the easy road and regret it later and have to redo crap and send 3 times the time but it your show you money. Totally get your reasoning. Get R Did. Im sure you and your boy love playing/working that beast. I once rented a termite little back hoe and I've wanted 1 ever since. So much fun and usefulness in a small semi affordable package. Cool build.

Re the shaft, I think you would be better off to weld the shaft to the plate then turn the plate on a lathe and drill the holes accordingly.

Where are ya getting your hoses from? Parker hoses are good and very reasonably priced. I worked at a Kubota dealership for a couple of years til 2016. We made Gates ( very expensive ) for a while and soon after I started there we switched to Parker. New machines . Different crimp. The parker hose was a buck n change per foot. If you wanted a sock that was 2 and change per foot additional. The fittings were cheap to. As long as it was common like pipe, o ring or JIC . British pipe was a little more money but I'm sure yours aren't that. Look around for Parker hoses. If you don't have anything around it might be worth sending your hoses out by mail. I've made 5/8 and 3/4" hoses, 6' to 9' long with 90 degree swivel o ring or JIC ends for 1/2 of what you paid. Yours look like 1/2 inch from what I can tell. Shop around.

I am presuming that is a predator 670 engine. I am in the process of putting that same engine in my smaller Magnatrac 267. Do you have any starting (and fuel starvation) problems with the predator? I haven’t started mine yet but I have read that they have fuel issues. That backhoe attachment is an invaluable attachment. Will be a very useful and cool machine.

You obviously already have a hydraulic pump that powers your previous hydraulics, if your not satisfied with with the flow and strength Im sure that you could just replace the existing one with a more powerful one. As long as you dont exceed that capacity of of your existing hoses, seals and valves.

Would AN hose and fittings work , AN is 37 degree taper .

On mobile hydraulics it is JIC. Same 37 degree seat angle, just "looser" specs than AN.
