Nice video!! One thing to note though, when you run the 12v positive wire from the battery use a wire loom. For those who don't know it's a plastic wiring cover like the factory wiring is in. it prevents chaffing of the wire thru the areas it's running between the battery and amp. To the person who posted that the PAC Accessory is only if you change your radio out that is incorrect as you can use the adapters they make so you're not chopping you're factory wiring as the video author noted as well. If you want to do the work properly then take the time, do the research on websites and get the proper harnesses as today's vehicles can and will give you trouble if you just go chopping wires as they did back in the day. A good example of a PAC adapter use would be that if you don't have USB or line in on your factory radio you can add it to a factory system without having to hack the system wires and then remove it for example if you choose to upgrade to a couple year newer vehicle that maybe don't have the same inputs. I'm replacing the 4 speakers in my 2003 Chevy Tahoe base model. The radio is also getting replaced from a 2 din to a 1 din pioneer unit. The factory speakers will be replaced with 6 1/2 Rockford Fosgate speakers as the paper has broke on two of the speakers and I've decided it's finally time to add ipod and android control with the radio I'm installing. I was poking around here tonight as I want to add a subwoofer without putting a box in the vehicle. I'm thinking a 8" or 10" or as big as I can get in it maybe using one of the rear panels on the side opposite of the hvac unit assembly if the space exists to install it? I'd mount the Amp under the rear fold down seats in the 2nd row as I think the amp would sit low enough for the occasional need for me to fold the seats to haul stuff. I initially thought the speakers and radio was going to be it but I stumbled on some in store credit on Amazon I had from some gift cards I'd earned from points I had to redeem on my credit card so now I need to find what'll work right for me, decisions decisions. If anyone reading this has installed a subwoofer in one of the rear side panels in the cargo area before please let me know how it went and if you have Pics that would be great. Just add me to your circle on Google+ and we can chat via there so we don't take up anymore of this thread. This RMS stuff has me scratching my head as back when I was in my 20's in the 90's we went by ohms input but now this "root mean square" stuff is Chinese to me after not toying around with audio for so long. I'll get it figured out though as being a mechanically inclined person by nature always helps me in the end. Any and all help is always appreciated as that's how we all can learn, from each other as well.

Dale N I’m trying to install a powered sub in my 2003 Silverado with a stock radio. Will I need the pac unit to this? The more research I do the more complicated it seems it’s gonna be to install and I’m not that knowledgeable on the subject lol.

You could of tied into the speaker wires in the back. Then you wouldn't have to take the radio out. Power wire could of been put through the passenger side instead of along the firewall . Other than that good job. Remote wire can be hooked to the 12v accessory wire and fused.

I have the same pac unit, just tried putting it in my 2012 ssilverado and nothing, if i hit eject or the info button on radio, it will eject a disk or shot the time but thats it. It wont show the radio etc.. I noticed some pics arent lined up with factor spots. Did you have to adjust any pins?? Maybe because i dont have bose radio the pins are off? cant figure it out lol

Where did you find the USB sockets for the cigarette lighter?
@mattdobson123
7 жыл бұрын
The single socket was stock with the truck (played music off usb thumb drive) you can attempt to retro-fit one in, I've never done myself. The double USB socket was only to charge phone and GPS. It was a griffin powerjolt dual power adapter.

Hey im juat wondering what you did with with the 4 rcas from the pac unit, it looks like it was designed more for speaker amplification as opposed to subwoofer. Was it as simple as a y connector for both lefts and bith rights?

Hey just curious. I noticed you have the USB ports on the left 12V outlet. I’m having an issue w the right one being extremely slow, but it’s the only one that works for the radio. I have an 07' GMC ENVOY DENALI with BOSE System. Will that PAC Unit work with that system? All I plan to do is change stock speakers because it has an amp already and add a Sub. I'm starting there. If I need to go any further as far as more power goes,I got that covered. Just wanna change the speakers to better ones and add a sub. Just wanna know if that PAC Interface will work with the GMC Bose system. Thank you.
