Hi. I just found you. Thank you for this! Recently, I used Modge Podge for sealing on a stack of journal covers I made. One of those inspirational moments for covers. They stuck together and tore bits off from every one of them. The waxing is what I'll do next. Just ordered the soy wax. Would you consider doing a video on making that type of journal cover? Faux midori? Including card stock weight? I've been experimenting and tired of wasting money and time, lol. I like 140 lb water color paper (but can't get through my printer) for the faux Midori. Haven't done it yet. Will try full page sticker paper for printing my graphic.

Hi @primrozie. I'll see if I can whittle out some time to go from start to finish on a journal cover like the one in this video. I can't make any promises, as I have to juggle the joy of doing my journals with the reality of my business. :) But I'll do my best.

Modge Podge is not what its cracked up to be!! You might not understand what i said if your young. How it came to be used on puzzles, well it was so wonderful when it first came out. Mayb they changed the formula.

Have you ever done this for a hardcover book? What would be your opinion on that? Researching different ways to preserve my hardcover books

I haven’t tried this with a hard covered book but I think it would depend on the type of material used for the cover. A linen textured book cloth might not work so well, but something smoother should. If you try it let me know how it goes.

With regards to working on the cover where you have the inkjet printed image, do you think it might be a good idea to use a candle stick (or maybe even the was you're using, but in stick form) to rub over it to give it an initial wax coating that might not cause the ink to move?

PamiStyle , I’ve used beeswax and it works great, if it’s yellow beeswax it will just give a slight yellow tint. And it does smell good!

Thanks so much for sharing this, I will have to give it a try. Question: If you used a scented wax with non coloured or even a coloured scented wax would the scent possible transfer to the project as well, which might be nice as well.

Inviting Thoughts I’ve never tried scented wax, but I think it would transfer slightly. I’m not sure how long the scent would last. It also would depend on the strength of the scent I think.
