Interesting ... i am wondering if works as well into a 2009 model... but so far best cost/easy mods on the market i guess ....thanks for the vid! Do you think it could affect batt status ???

I don't think it adds any significant parasitic draw. A small amount sure, but nothing that truly impact battery or storage life. I think they want it connected to the always on power so that it will always be present to the other devices on the M.O.S.T. bus. Thanks for watching!

You do not need such a thing for 2009 cars. Get a BoVee 100 and just plug it into the iPod cable. By the way, @Aston1936 I thought you had retrofitted an Aston Installations kit.

I think it's much easier on the slightly newer cars (2008?) with iPod connector. You can just connect a $50 Bovee, and there's a USB port that allows you to put a USB key with mp3 files.

Yes u can ...but no streaming (as far as all my different test with bovee etc.... exclude streaming)

@@jims632 I used mine for listening to podcasts and stuff from my phone. Anything I could play on my phone played on the stereo. That was the point since the system built in had phone call support. What do you mean by streaming?

Did you have to disconnect the navigation module? The website indicates that you have to, otherwise the unit won't work.

I have a 2007 DB9 Volante with the BT option. It also have the 950W sound system. Unfortunately, the CODEC doesn't allow music streaming (too early). I can have two BT sources simultaneously on my phone. This might be an easy way of getting music to the car. The question I have, is when I am using the GPS in the phone for directions, do I put it in BT streaming to hear the audio directions from the phone? Otherwise, I really don't listen to the radio much when I am driving, as the V12 is music in itself, especially on a nice winding road.

I have a 2004 with the 950 Linn Audio (without BT, wasn't available in the first years) and have installed the Dension GW with a Bovee on the Ipod cable adapter et voila; music streaming like in Steve's video thru CD and selection CD 6

@nileshthakkar1777 It was a self install well documented on 6-speed online. Took me a while to find the right way of connecting the fibre optics (behind the CDC!) But ever since its been working flawless

Has anyone done this on a Right hand drive version of the DB9. I ask at the layout is not a mirror of the Left hand drive as show in the video. Yes the fuse box is on the passenger side (LHS), but the optic fibre cables run down the driver’s side (RHS), the carpet of which does not easily peel back because of the foot rest. I am keen to do an install like that shown in the video as it does not require the removal of the ski slope, but the access to the optic fibre connector and the power cable routing is a little different. Suggestions would be appreciated. UPDATE I installed my unit at the weekend. By pulling down the carpet on both sides of the centre console it’s very easy to thread the supplied optic fibre cable from the driver-side through to the passenger side. In fact it makes the fibre cable management easier as there is just the right length to locate the unit on top of the foot well above the fuse panel like in the video. I used Velcro adhesive strips to secure the unit. Again as in the video I used an add-a-fuse to supply power to the unit. Where I fed the red cable into the fuse box, I improvised a mini conduit by stripping the outer insulation of the larger cable, that way protecting the flimsy red cable from being chafed. For the negative power I found the best method is to crimped an eyelet terminal onto the cable and put it on one of the screw threads protruding from the bulkhead, there are 2 to choose from. Using a additional 10mm nut on the remains of the protruding thread, with a shake proof washer for good measure it was easy to attach. No need to drill any holes or anything like that. One thing that nearly caught me out was I couldn’t see any of the text messages being displayed such as tracks and input selection. I worked out you have to turn CD Text turned on in the cars menu.

Hiya - i'm just about to do this... were you able to work through the RHD differences? Also, did you have to disconnect the Nav module? Any guidance would be amazing!

@@nileshthakkar1777 No I haven’t done mine yet. I have found the optic fibre connector on the UK drivers side as in the video (US passenger side. You can pull the carpet down with a bit of effort. I am hoping to be able to thread the Mr12volt harness through the center console into the passenger side and install the module near to the fuse panel to negate the need to remove the ski slope.

I have a 2007 RHD Volante and installed this today. I used the cigar lighter outlet in the center console (see Steve’s other video on how to access), and ran the cables behind the carpet along the sidewall to the left of the driver’s seat. I connected to the MOST cable behind the carpet to the left of the driver’s footrest. I ran the mike from the top of the steering column down to the bottom left of the driver’s footwell, behind the OBD ports. Using double-sided Velcro, I attached the unit to the upper left sidewall of the driver’s footwell. It’s out of sight there in the dark, but still easy to access the SD slot, Aux cable, etc. No need to get behind the ski slope and no need for a fuse tap. One oddity: the manual says dip switch 1 must be off for 2007-2012 Astons, but mine didn’t work that way. I turned dip switch 1 on (supposedly for 2002-2006 models), and it works fine.
