An amateur here and I use the free version. Stuff like this helps a lot. Thank you! Best part is - it's not processor intensive as well!! Checked out your website and it's great. Wish you well!

What is the shortcut you use that the node popped up when after you went to the timeline section? I know it's something basic, I'm just starting to learn and your channel is mindblowing!

It it either a serial node you're talking about, command S on a Mac and crlt s on a Windows. Or it's a layer node - option L for Mac Windows - Alt L for windows. Cheers for the comment mate, appreciate it.

Hi. Thanks for sharing. I am kinda new to this. When I switch to timeline, the node with the original video doesn't show up. I can add the layer mixer and the matte film grain, but the node with the clip is not there. How do I make it appear? I notice in your video, it just appears as you say, "because... this will" (at 1:10 into the video), but you don't mention how you make it appear after you switch to timeline space. Appreciate if you could clarify how you add it. Many thanks.

Had the same issue, but hunted down an answer; in order to create that missing node, you must press option S (on mac) / alt S (on windows), aka creating a Serial Node. That's the unspoken key command he does at 1:10. Cheers!

Alt S or option S to create a serial node. Sorry should've said that during the vid.

My clip doesn't show up when I select timeline in the colour tab, it's just blank. Any reason for this?
@GreenGoatProductions

Your clip doesn't show up? The video track? Or you have no node?

Hey mate, cheers for the words. Unfortunately not to my knowledge. You can make the grain larger or smaller though by zooming. Cheers for the comment

You can add an empty node after the grain and change the key output in the key tab of the node

softlight vs overlay composite?
@GreenGoatProductions

Soft light works better. It targets the brighter areas, which is how film grain works.

I dont think this works in the free version anymore, there's a watermark when adding any composite mode :)
@GreenGoatProductions

There's two downloads you can do. One is a paid one with a water mark, the other is the free one. I think its called dirty film grain or something.

@@GreenGoatProductions The video file is fine - DaVinci puts a watermark on the video
@GreenGoatProductions
3 ай бұрын
@ravenbeaked it does? Are you using the ofx in resolve or the free film grain you can download? Because resolve won't put a water mark on that
