Hmmm, somehow my comment came across as rather nonsensical. I was trying to request more tutorials on lighting effects in particular, and the more detailed the better.

Why exactly were you told that releasing this video would piss people off? I'm curious.

People that don't want others to have the knowledge to make their own stuff. As in DON'T TELL PEOPLE HOW TO DO THIS! as we won't be able to sell them stuff at a inflated rate.

no worries. I believe there are a few videos up that show how to program led boards. Ive sold most of my gaming accessories however to focus on my other hobbies. but good luck in your crafting projects

Super cool effect! Do you play your games in low light in order for the effect to really come out? I would imagine in most gaming situations where there is way too much sunlight, this effect would not be as...well...effective. The LED, however, is pretty intense, so it might work just fine. Thanks for posting!

Nahh.. Led's are much brighter than regular home lighting so they really shine bright. My game room is on the lower level of our home ( next to a large window) and the led's are easily seen. I did have a Dungeon set I painted several years ago that was painted with some UV paint so under a black-light certain details glowed. And for those games I used blinds to slightly darken the room.

Cool! UV paint and black lights?! That sounds like a blast! Great idea! I haven't used my black lights since the mid 90s, so I will have to dig them out if I want to give it a try!

Maybe if you based your HA tiles on thick foam core you could just chip the corners on 4 tiles, so the LED could poke through that space and the electronics could fit in the foam core. How much room do you need for the electronics? I'm guessing more than 1/4 inch but 1/2 is overkill?
@DungeonmasterMark
7 жыл бұрын
it is possible. I once modded a floor with small pin holes ( 1/64) drill holes in a pattern so the light would shine through. It was a interesting pieces.

As for room it really depends on the battery and wiring /led you use. I have seen some as thin as 1/4 inch. Myself personally I now mostly use Dwarven forge and stuff i have made which is all about 1/2 inch thick. SO i have some room to spare. But you could always use some longer wires if you dont have room. and then use a switch remotely.
