In this video we install a NOAA weather radio patch system to my VHF Ham Radio repeater. The system monitors for the SAME alert digitally encoded data bursts that come from every NOAA transmitter during a warning, watch, or advisory. When the first few bits of an alert start decoding, the custom board we designed will send a signal to the alarm pin on the Arcom RC210 repeater controller. This activates the repeater's transmitter and patches through the audio from the on-site weather radio. Once the three "NNN" data packets are received indicating the end of message, the pin goes low and turns off the weather radio link.
This is a cool feature for any Skywarn repeater or just for fun.
