The extended harbour could (maybe) eventually transition into a beach. Due to the difference in elevation separating the general landscape from the current harbour, the beach could be accessed via a sandy hill or integrated steps. The change in elevation could also allow you to add features like headlands, arches, stacks, caves or even wave cut platforms. Contrastingly, a longshore beach could allow you to build a bar, a lifeguard tower and other recreational structures.

I think for the fountain, the scattered 1 by 2 tiles looked really good. I'd say add some to it, with the current placed tiles below. That way the cool effect of scattered tiles is there and we also can't see the floor below.

If you're looking for more ideas for buildings to fill out space in the city, maybe you could do a building under construction or renovation? That would also bring up some storytelling opportunities. Plus, is it really a LEGO city without a bright yellow piece of construction equipment? ;) Love this series and the dedication that goes into it!

He had a building like this in the city before he changed the layout of the upper platform, but because of the needed change he had to remove it. Not sure if he’ll ever add it back but I hope so as I fully agree with your idea, it looked great in the city!

If you want to change up the solid grey tiles on the tram line while keeping it flat, maybe try changing some of the 1x2 tiles to 1x1 round/quarter round tiles. I'd recommend keeping them dark bluish grey, but the small holes will add some detail and the shadows will give it a slight colour variation. While on that topic, there are a few spots with mostly/entirely one colour (the walls around the second level, the tile path next to the tram), maybe try this technique here as well? Small details that show age like cracked walls, different colour stones used to replaced broken ones on the path, maybe even some litter to add some colour. Also, is there a website for your Lego museum? I would love to visit one day.

The rig on top of the tram would normally interface with overhead wires, so maybe a small enclosure at the end of the tram platform, and then some overhead wires from that which follow the track.

I liked the scattered blue tiles! It looked like moving water, or at least gave it some volume. It would be cool to see you shape the fountain a bit (add some foam/bubbles?). Also I'd love for it to end with a beach -- as someone who crew up by the shore, it would be so cool to see your take on a boardwalk. These are all just suggestions though. I absolutely love your work. It's so creative and cool to see the updates!

To connect the western area, you could add a few small details and make it an amusement park! A western themed educational park where people can go and ride horses, hang out in a saloon and go for carriage rides and watch a train heist! I think it would be really cool! You could do a small transition area where there is a parking area, minis in normal clothes wearing cowboy hats… etc. make it feel like a tourist attraction. You wouldn’t have to ruin any of your incredible work, just add a few minor details to explain why the Wild West is connected to a modern town. That’s just my idea though… feel free to take it or ignore it.

I love the new house walls, although I must say that the roof looks a little weird, not the new plate technique, but the way that the front facade isn't connected. It's a normal roof that suddenly ends in a triangular shaped wall. It might just be me, but it looks a little off.

Gable walls rising above the roof tiles is a real thing but I agree that it looks weird here, I'd suggest removing the facades and building the roof out a little larger so the tiles cover the wall. Gable ends might need to be taller to achieve a decent roof pitch.

_For a start;_ I really like the gold bricks in the fountain, simple yet effective and they stand out from the rest of the city. I'd just love for you to add some loose, scattered light blue see through pieces over the ones you put down there, like a mix of what you did in the beginning and your solution at the end. I think it would bring some _"movement"_ to the fountain :) _Secondly;_ This *really* looks like many European cities, the _"classic",_ older parts of them. I'm Swedish (though I live in Oslo, Norway, and used to live in København/Copenhagen, Denmark and before that I lived in Berlin for a while) and to be honest - I think this looks a *lot* like some areas of København/Copenhagen, and Oslo, and the city where I grew up in Sweden, Växjö. It also looks like Prague and Amsterdam and towns around the Alps that I have visited for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer, and even (back to Sweden) -> Stockholm and Göteborg.... I could keep going, but I guess you get my point. It's remarkable! I love it! *Keep up the amazing work, you are a true artist!*

Great video! For the tram line I'd reccomend going in a straight line instead of at an angle towards the houses (make the turn 90 degrees). You could make a main promenade / "main street" with the tram, central road, green foliage+ setbacks, and sidewalks in front of the townhouses and central street. You could then open up wider sidewalks for dining areas, retail stores with operable facades, etc. This would really sell the idea of a central city! Hope this helps 😊

One thing I always like to see in buildings and structures is when two buildings have a road or pathway between them, and they're connected by a bridge that goes over that pathway. Not sure where something like that could really work in your city, maybe with the houses along the tramline? Would be neat to see though.

I’ve been binge watching all of your city updates in two days and I am totally hooked. Mesmerising stuff, exquisite eye for detail in the buildings and the attention to life-likeness in terms of scale and perspective is just something else. Of course I subscribed immediately. I don’t know whether you’ve already decided what to do with the large open green area in the back, but I think it would be wonderful to make a greenhouse and/or agricultural scene there. This might boost your city’s economic production without disturbing the pastoral atmosphere too much with for example heavy industrial zones.

I love your videos man, keep up the work. About the tram line, you can build a buffer stop on the end surrounded by barriers, in order to prevent minifigures from getting hurt, and I was thinking about a little yellow line on the side of the tracks, like ones that you can find on the tram stops. Also, you can try to build a big water Tower on the outskirts of the city. Like from gravity falls. It will look cool in my oppinion.
@yatokami7907
Жыл бұрын
100% agree with the buffer block and the yellow line, but I think a water tower wouldn't quite fit the western European style the city has, as they're not quite as common here in the form you mentioned. Though a water tower in the old brickwork European style, or even like the post-war smooth concrete "pillars" they have as water towers in parts of France would be a really neat addition to the city. I also think the tramline still needs overhead wires, so a little electrical junction box should be at the end of the line as well, connecting to those.

I have 2 suggestions of ways to end the tram line: the first one is to just end it with a buffer, which is the most common option for ending tram lines, or decorate the end point like it is some kind of turn table like the ones used at the ends of the san Fransisco cable car lines.
