@@facuigua12 You cannot expect the same results between two different laptops. Heck! You ideally shouldn't expect the same results even on the same laptop. This is because, every laptop is different in the sense that one might have clogged up fans or poorly applied thermal paster or even dried up thermal paste. So you can say that he had that huge difference probably because voltage was the only culprit in his case. In your case, it could be a combination of voltage, fans, or thermal paste. Main factor to remember is that his is a different laptop. His laptop might simply have a better cooling solution (heat pipes and air flow) than yours.
@facuigua12

@@madguy123lolol2 I agree with you 100%. But still a 25° difference felt way too good to be true just by changing the voltage a bit, specially with just -125 mV. Thats why I was asking them if they actually palyed for a bit to see the real changes (happened to me the first time i undervolted). Nevertheless, I did manage to take mine 15° lower eventually by limiting my gpu's frequency and cpu's turbo + undervolt, so those 25° don't seem too impossible, specially considering what you've said about every laptop being different and in different conditions.

After my initial m17 r1 Thermal Grizzly repaste (and raising back of laptop by 1.5 ") after playing games (Apex, DMC 5) for 2 hours or so, I was getting max temps in the low 90's and throttling on some cores (usually 1,3,5), but my average temps were in the 70's, which was a drastic improvement from pre-repaste when the max temps were all 99 with throttling on all cores and average temps in the upper 80's/lower 90's. I decided to undervolt using ThrottleStop. Since I have a i7-8750H processor, I used Bob of All Trades' video and undervolted CPU Cache and Core by -125mV. My temps decreased by 10-15 degrees!! Now with the repaste, raise and undervolt...I am getting max temps in the mid-70's with no throttling and averages in the mid-60's. Was forwarded this video to help tame my MSI GE63 Raider's insane CPU temps (I'm talking 90-99C temps while gaming). People tell me this is okay and won't harm my computer, I beg to differ. Sent this laptop in 3 times, finally getting a "replacement" that has the same issue as the one I had, the GP63. Tried the steps here and will continue to tweak, I started at -250Mv because I am genuinely desperate for a solution to this issue. CSGO, League, and other eSport titles (With the exception of OW, which runs upper 90s C) all sit upper 80s, lower 90s, and any other game runs closer to 100c. Will update if I have any luck!

An update! I am able to sit at -0.250mV using Throttlestop, and it remains stable, unlike with XTU (Intel Extreme Tuning Utility). However, I am not able to maintain 3.5GHz or higher while gaming. I will say, the temps are down in the 70s C for all my games, but at the cost of 10-15% performance. I decided to up the voltage for my CPU core back up to -0.200mV to see if that makes a difference. Will continue testing! Thank you Bob for your helpful guide!

Basically full 3.9 MHz most of the time and no thermal throttle. GPU temps around 70s degrees Celsius and the I7 around the 80 C most of the time. Pretty much depends on the current room temperature too. I was using XTU but even though It was showing that the CPU is undervolted, sometimes I was not seeing that change in real. I can confirm this, which was frustrating Me as I followed the tutorial to the letter but was still receiving high temps, and I noticed that it was still on 3.9ghz, with that said, if you right click on throttlestop in the task area, you will see a list : Performance , Game, Internet , Battery, I chose game and since then its reduced My temperatures in game to an acceptable level, it does underperform your laptop , probably not the best option for someone who is crazy about fps, but I get enough fps to satisfy my gaming needs. trying to fix temps on msi gs65 stealth (9se I believe) I already knew about throttlestop and undervolting but this gave me some insight I didn't have before. Unfortunately temps are still pretty damn crazy on this thing which is bothersome, it easily passes 80-90 degrees during load. Because of this I set fans to advanced options and put a pretty aggressive fan curve, even using the fans over 100% (which I guess could help the cpu in the long run but shorten the life of the fans) I'm curious what other solutions people have and what people think about my situation. I am considering repasting both the cpu and gpu and that would likely greatly improve my temps, though I am a bit nervous. I've already opened this thing up voiding my warranty just so I could install a 1tb ssd (because really msi? this expensive of a machine with this much juice and only a 256gb boot drive with no other storage??) but I've never actually reapplied thermal paste on a laptop before. Any tips, tricks, or good words to minimize my concerns or help my situation? Maybe recommend places to go or people to talk to that can repaste with me or for me for the first time? To anyone with the patience to read all that, thank you, and to anyone that reads AND responds to me, I highly appreciate you as a human being. :)

I know this is 2 months old. I have an Omen 15 with a 8750H but only a 1050. I got my vCore and Cache offset to -150.4mV. I also put the Intel GPU on -50.8mV. And most importantly, I lowered my clocks to 3.2GHz (6 cores) all the way to 3.7GHz (1 core). I also undervolted the 1050 with MSI afterburner. Another thing that also affected temps a lot was caping the FPS in games. I use RTSS (it already comes with Afterburner) instead of VSync to avoid major input delay. I also set the EPP to 64. It keeps clocks down when browsing and whatnot, and when gaming it always stays at the maximum clock (my own clock, not 3.9GHz). For instance, I play BF1. At 1080p (low because of the 1050) capped at 60FPS, the 8750H will be around 40/50% and around 60ºC. The 1050 goes from 50% to 100% and reaches 57º58º but the 8750H will still be at a resonable 65ºC.
