what would you say for adults who were given Ritalin as a child, Adderall as a teenager and then suddenly nothing from 16 on? I struggle in school, I didn't before I was given these drugs as a child and teenager, I'm a grown man and I am struggling in college.

Danny, ADHD usually continues into adulthood. The medication worked for you. You should not have to suffer because "normal" people don't understand your condition or are against "drugs". It is not up to other people who don't know. Nor your parents. You are an adult and are free to seek treatment again. Since you have an already established diagnosis for ADHD to take Ritalin as a child, you should be able to resume treatment again. You can see if your previous doctors can treat you again or find a new doctor or mental health clinic that treats adult ADHD.

I completely agree not using meds for ADHD I have discovered why ADHD develops. It is a disorder caused by Narcissistic and codependent relationships!!

That's WRONG! ADHD is a well-established brain chemistry disorder that has a high success rate when treated with the appropriate medications at the right doses for the individual. Your theory is wrong because it is present at birth and usually noticeable in early school years. Kindergartners/young children are not in couples "relationships".

@@JCGFL caregiver/parent relationships are still relationships. I never felt I had ADHD until I spent a significant time with around only narcissists. There could be a predisposition to this disorder that is visible in the brain at birth. However, couldn’t it be possible that those predispositions are triggered by significant emotional trauma or narcissistic/ codependent parenting styles or later in life by couples relationships ?
