I really like that Adidas still gives us runners the option to choose between plated superfoam trainers/racers and more traditional "modernized" racing flats.

That is fine but then it should be priced accordingly. The shoes are too expensive, you are better of paying £20 more & buy the Boston 12 as you get more of the pro-foam or there are other brands offering better shoes at £120.

ASICS is also doing this. They just released a traditional flat that is priced at 85 dollars! Great value for those who don’t want a 250 dollar Metaspeed sky/edge or the bulky magic speed

I think of this version as a budget Takumi Sen, which is not a bad thing.. On a somewhat related note, this shoe is the blueprint for Adidas on how to make a basketball shoe using Lightstrike Pro.

Nick! Thank you for your review on the Adios 8. My last pair of Adios were the model 5. Gosh, it and the original Takumi Sen series (I have two pairs of the Takumi Sen 7's) were both considered racing flats for track work to the marathon in application. I'm really excited about the 8's. For some of us they and similar shoes can serve as a counterpoint to high stack plated racers.

Thanks for the review, i must admit, as a long time Adizero Adios fan, im not happy with the way they have gone. Ive just started using the Adios 7s, and im not enjoying the floppy heel lock. To think the 8s are wider sounds to me like its the end of a 6 year rd for me using this line, super sad! :( Ive been blessed for the last 6 years with a shoe line that has just worked for me, no thinking required.

it's for people that want something more "old school" than a takumi or more stability and durability, personnally i got takumi 9 and love it but i can see someone liking these more for mltiple reasons

My thoughts and issues about the heel design are the same as yours. So, the fit and size to look for should be the same than the Adios 6?

I find it very slightly tighter on my small toe than the 6, but only an issue if you were already tight in the 6. It’s good but less top padding than the 6 which remains my favorite

Adios 6 was more comfortable. Adios 7 was too thin and split. Adios 8 probably also same as 7. So 8 is ok for shorter distances, but for longer distances Adios 6 was perfect (stockpile in cupboard)

My problem with Adidas shoes is durability. I had the Adios 6 and loved them. However they just didn’t last that long and started to look really bad. I imagine this shoe would suffer the same fate. However I’m still using the Adios Pro 2. Managed to keep them in good shape by limiting how often I use them. I’ve already moved on to the Nike Pegasus 39. By far my favorite shoes.

It is cheaper than the Takumi, that's for sure ! I still need to try the Takumi Sen ,a pure LiteStrike Pro with rods. But for now, my favorite running fast shoes is Adios 7. I got the best times and PBs that won when I used shoes like ZoomFly , Boston 11, Velocity Nitro 2, and Wave Rebellion. The stability in high speeds and the LiteStrike Pro in the forefoot is what makes me run fast with t the Adios 7, and I love these shoes.
@MiracleWarriors
Жыл бұрын
@Not So Common Sense lower stack does not mean it does not have cushioning. I much prefer, also for the comfort, my Adios 7 over a Puma Velocity Nitro 2, Ultraboost Light or the Adizero RC 4 ( to have a minimum level of comfort with these, you have to weight as a Kenyan runner !) . LiteStrike Pro in the Adios line makes it 100 times more comfortable and bouncy the the Adizero RC line .

The Adios 8 are overpriced for what they are, you are better off buying the Boston 12 for £20 more as you get more of the pro-foam or buy a shoe from another brand. If you do want a low stack old tech shoe then just buy an old running shoe made from standard EVA for less than £60.

@@Karlm01 still overpriced for what it is. I had bought the Adios 7 for £80 & was very annoyed for having done so. On foot it felt like a trainer from an era when supershoes & daily cushions did not exist & you can pick up old style running shoes like that for £30 only heavier as old racing flats are rarely sold these days.

@@jeffbrunton3291 that is fine but you can find low stack old tech shoes for less than the price of an Adios 8. It just doesn't make any sense & should not even exist. They could have stopped at Adios 6 & sold that model for £60.
