This takes practice. You can flip the ball to the opposite flipper by catching the ball and holding it on the flipper letting it settle to the top of the flipper. Now here is the tricky part, don't let the ball roll down the flipper but quickly flick the flipper and catch it in the opposite flipper. It takes a lot of practice but it can be done. Hitting targets consistently is done by catching the ball in the flipper letting it settle then allowing the ball to ride down the flipper and learn where it goes at each point on the flipper. Again, it takes practice but eventually you get it.

Is it just me, or have some REALLY INTERESTING pinball machines been showing up lately? I was never a huge pinball player but even I can see the artwork involved with some of these machines.

I'm selling you on them, they're all pretty interesting if you take the time to check them out. I honestly feel like they're more interesting than the brand new ones, the new ones have obvious themes with obvious artwork, etc. but the old ones since time has passed you look at them and go 'hmmm... why'd they do that?' ....

Looking good sir! Another excellent restoration series. Seriously... If I could retire today, I would consider selling my home and move to Rock Hill and volunteer my time helping you where I could... for free! Restoring these machines is preserving history and preserving the concept of simple (yet complex) fun. It may pay the bills for you, but I can also tell it is a hobby and rewarding for you. When I retire, I will likely look for the rewarding part. And get to play a few games along the way. 🙂 Thank you for all you do!!

Joe's classic, the phase A and phase B is called some type of light switching duplexing. What I'm surprised is why they didn't use the traditional light matrix diode scheme instead they use this duplex switching scheme instead I'm not sure what is the advantage of using the duplex switching scene with the phase a and phase b instead of using the diode switching scheme of the light matrix is like you see in most pinball games. There must be some type of advantage of using the phase a and phase B to do the the duplex lighting scheme that's why they probably used it or there's some must be some other reasons why

Turned out nice Ron. It's amazing how popular bowling and billiard themed pins are. The way this one handles the top roll through lane and outlane lights is odd - the ones you can cycle with the right flipper. Most games the goal is to get them all lit but this one it starts lit and your goal is to turn them all off. That seems kind of backwards to me .

What's the processor used in these machines, was it the Motorola MC6803? That was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the 6803 number.
@SpearM3064
Жыл бұрын
Yes, actually. Bally used the 6803 on a couple other pinball machines between 1985 and 1988. Atlantis, Beat the Clock, Black Belt, Blackwater 100, Lady Luck, Motor Dome, Party Animal, Special Force, and Strange Science, to name a few. None of them had big production runs, though; from just 500 machines for Beat the Clock at the low end, up to about 2,750 machines for Special Force.
