If you want to work as a graphic designer, you'll need to learn Photoshop as it lets you do a LOT more than just enhancing photos. You will use and NEED (depending on the design task) layers, filters, text, actions, adjustment layers, layer masks, history brush, and many other features. Lightroom would be used more by someone who's hobby or job is more rooted in photography in general, or for editing photos that a graphic designer is to use in his/her design work.

Thanks for the clear explanation! Lightroom looks to be really good, but i also can see the plus of Photoshop for an in-depth edit due to the possibility of adjusment layers as one can play with the blending modes to achieve some cool effects.

This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "is lightroom 6 the same as lightroom cc?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Piyamilla Aphonic Prestige - (search on google ) ? It is a good one off product for discovering how to use these lightroom presets to edit your photos minus the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got cool results with it.

I think you've omitted the fact that LR and Photoshop's ACR are in fact very similar (AFAIK, I'm not a LR user!) and I believe have the same engine under the hood. Personally I prefer the idea of Bridge and ACR (both for RAW and JPG photo editing). Reason being, there's no bloated master database, and using sidecar XMP files with RAW in particular means there's very little data to backup whenever you edit. Also I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket!
@JustinOdisho
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! I do touch on the fact that they are very similar but just the workflow and setup is suited for different things
@ichapp

...and also, copying/syncing settings amongst large number of images using ACR is simple enough, as long as you open them together. (Maybe it's also possible in Bridge?)

You couldn’t edit raw photos in premiere or after effects, really those aren’t too suited for photo editing at all. Justin, great video. Thanks. Just an FYI though. It's Composing, not Compositing. The program allows you to Compose a picture, not Composite one. :)
@JustinOdisho

Thanks, the word compose could surely be used when referring to photography but programs like after effects and photoshop that work with layers could be called compositing softwares because they are made up of several layers. The works created are often called compositions.
