David (1842-1897) was a french composer.
Hardly anything is known about him. He taught in Nancy for some time and lived in Nice . His most important contribution to music would be the operetta Diane de Spaar with a libretto by Armand Silvestre; with performances from December 3 , 1887 at the Le Grand-Théâtre de Nantes. It made the British press. In addition, he also wrote quite a number of works for piano solo, of which La Pluie (Regen) gained some fame. According to the Bibliothèque nationale de France he wrote about 200 works for piano, but only a part of them can be found.
