I had the real privilege to see Adrian live with Talking Heads and Crimson in the early 80's in NYC and the things he did with a guitar were truly mind-bending. Here's a guy who throws all the rules out the window and reinvents the instrument. He and Les Claypool are a particularly great match! Saw Primus do the Rush - Farewell to Kings show last year and that was the coolest show I've seen in years.

loved him in Zappa and Talking Heads. City of Tiny Lights is one of my all time favorite Zappa songs and Remain in Light is THE best Talking Heads album, because of Adrian. I saw KC do Thela Hun Ginjeet back in 1981 when they had just gotten back together. I had front row center seats in a small indoor theater -- I still remember every note of that show. The song name is an anagram of 'heat in the jungle' which addresses street crime in NYC.

Nope - as RF said - "Young Ade got a bit too big for his boots" and he started to think of the band as his as much as Fripp's. The final straw was when he expected the other musicians in the current incarnation to be treated as salaried sidemen, rather than full partners. He's no loss.

There are essentially two very different incarnations/visions of King Crimson. Both have created amazing and wonderful music. I am grateful to have seen each of them live and enjoyed their many great recordings over the years.
