It really -- and by really I really mean REALLY -- amazes me how so many performers who are best known for acting and really sing well too! Adrienne Barbeau is DEFINITELY one of these!!!

Had NO idea how talented and rock -solid LEGIT this woman is. Barely remembered her from love boat era pop culture. Oh how ignorant I've been. She originated the part and it belongs to HER.

Watching Swamp Thing and I stumbled across this... She looks and sounds amazing. I love all her old 80s movies

Hearing this song sung by an older woman just resonates on a deeper, devastating level

What a legend. Saw her on the flying Trapeze in Pippin and wow, what a Berthe she was. Not to mention her legendary screamqueen roles. iconic.

Better than ever. I saw her in the original when I was about 19 or so. This is a lesson in how to do this song. Amazingly moved right now by a song I know inside out.

Wow what a find!. Clearly age has made that voice deeper, and warmer from the studio version. But watch how her hand slowly slides up and down her thigh mimicing sensuality as though she was still 17. Listen to the expert phrasing., She found every ounce of nuance and poignancy in this lyric. How I wish we had a some video of this from the original production to compare this with. But that is too much to demand from the Musical Theater Gods without bringing a virgin to sacrifice, I suppose. I am very impressed.

I directed 'Grease' when I was 22? 23? I had no idea what I was doing! Now I'd base the whole Sandy/Rizzo relationship around this song. It's one of the few actual 'book' songs. Interesting that the film version with the superb Stockard C chose to take Sandy out of this scene completely thereby eliminating the, albeit misguided, 'lesson' that causes Sandy to decide to become a 'bad' girl!

the original broadway version on any song is usually the very best and closest to the true intent. she delivered beautifully in the original / the movie version and several broadway revivals didnt work as well. she owns the role and the song
