Denny Brauer won a Classic at High Rock Lake in NC upper lake dirty water on laydowns with a 4 inch BLACK tube jig texas rigged....I watched him from the water....circa 1994 or 1995? In summertime!

Back in the 90's when I lived a few miles from Lake Lanier In GA. The Zoom Finesse worm was the #1 way to catch Spotted Bass there. We fished them on small Jig Heads, Light Carolina rigs and Texas Rigged. Still works today, my best friend has lived on Lake Lanier for 35 years and he is a Golfer and not much into fishing but likes it. A long time ago I set him up with a spinning rod and zoom finesse worms and still today he catches fish on that same set up from his dock. Every time I visit him I have to put on new line and get him restocked. He repays me with Steak Dinners and he tells me his fish stories...

Great video and you are right, there is something about the black worm and the light tail that they really like. There was a lake that I grew up on and that's the color pattern that the bass liked the most. Fun times!! Thanks Randy for sharing this with us!!

Ya know you outta write a book. Would be so cool to be able to reference these tips in a book before a fishing trip. Check the weather Check the water conditions Check Randy's book Pack the tackle box.

Black and chartreuse is a killer color here in southeast Louisiana on the northwest shore of the lake back in. The black water in the cypress swamp around the ditches, drains, slews, and boostays. Then the black with a dark blue tail in the 4’ to 10’ of water. Get back to the brown sandy color water the ZOOM has a color Blue Moccasin. We call a river color. It’s like a plum that clear and not so dark. With blue flake 2’ to 3’ maybe 4’ of visibility in the rivers it’s on. With color

Really good alternative to the Zoom finesse is a 5in Slider. I do really like the Fat Finesse for neko rigging in the spring.

How do you decide between a trick worm and roboworm? I use both for drop shots and shaky heads with about equal success. They seem pretty interchangeable.

Little tip to help catch your 1st worm bass...use a heavier weight bullet weight....you get the feel of using the worm easier...Also, will help u feel the bite....After some catches & getting the feel of wormin' u can go to a lighter sinker if needed...lighter sinker gives the worm a little more lifelike action, but is harder to get the feel

I grew up finesse fishing with Texas rigged worms. Not because I knew what it was or that it was my favorite. Worms, hooks and weights were cheap and i was a poor kid!

Maybe 1 thing you didn't mention is the Zoom swamp crawler. Almost akin to the roboworm is the Zoom swamp crawler . What say you?

When you side skin hook the worm, how does it not twist and spin on a retrieve?
