I don't think that WERA guy knows the course like you do. He can really ride that bike though. Great video and commentary as usual.

I met Joby when I was there, fellow MT-10 rider haha. Sadly didn’t get a chance to ride with him but cool to see his pace from your point of view

In spite of what alot of people think ..you don't have to drag you're knee or shoulder to ride fast each bike is different

Smooth is fast and fast is smooth, JR is definitely both here. Dragging a knee or trying to will slow you down especially if you are too far off the seat.

He's really yanking the bike into the corners and unsettling the chassis. He looks like he practically stops then fires out like a cannon.

great video. Brought back memories of when I was there in May. Been there the last 3 years in early Spring. If I lived closer, I'd go there more often. Anyway, was wondering what you meant about lean angle on an MT09 or MT10 then it hit me- your Sumo and other supermoto's are taller so they can lean more? Am i right? I noticed over the few years I've gone that the locals prefer supermotos. I did notice that I raely got out of 2nd when I was there on my ZRX1100 but I need a liter bike to commute there is why I ride it and only have one bike so... Anyway thanks again for the vid. You guys did a real good job considering it hadn't been repaved yet. Souithbound side of the road looked rougher than I remember. I was fortunate got to ride early May this year and 85% was complete. Can't wait to go back

Crazy to say a mt10 doesn’t have much lean angle especially with their short wheel base. Mt10 is a great bike for curvy back roads.

Well, my 701 SM stock footpegs scrape at 50 degrees with the suspension set to sport and S22 tires... I think the MT-10/09 has about the same lean angle (51 degs), not sure with or without the feelers.
@RioterRides

Yeah there’s more than enough lean angle for most riders on a mt10
@Antprilia.

I lean my sumo over far and I still don’t drag pegs.. 701 def have a lot more room to go further. Idk if my suspension is stock, but I yet to drag my peg on my 701

@@Antprilia. I have the 2021 SM (EU), which has 1.3 inches less ground clearance. Suspension set to sport, tires are S22s, I weigh 172 lbs and I drag pegs at 50 degrees, so I have to sit out more.

Im no expert but racer Joby is parking it in the corners and this is why when he gases it to exit the bike gets nerves.

Seems supermotos are quickest through this tight stuff. MT rider looked to be working much harder than you. I was there end of May during the resurfacing, saw you at dusk when I rolled in.
@Antprilia.

I agree, sumos are definitely faster at going into a curve hotter and quicker at braking before the turn!! If a sumo had more torque there wouldn’t be a street bike that could touch it through the tight stuff!!

What tires are you running on the 701? Tire pressure? Suspension setup? Pipe? Tune? What’s the setup? Looks fun. I’m in the market for one. Thanks,

beautiful riding as usual! and tell me your opinion, is there a big difference between 600 and 1000 supersport on road like this? for example r6/zx6r vs your aprilia, does lack of torque make huge difference or not so much?
@Antprilia.
9 ай бұрын
Yes there’s a big difference, it easier to ride a 600 out there, but you have to really keep it up in high rpm’s. 1k is lent as nimble, but the torque helps you make up for that. I still prefer to ride 1000 and 1100cc bikes

Would aftermarket rearsets alleviate the lean angle problem?
@Antprilia.

Yes they would!! I don’t know how much more lean angle you achieve, but I’m for sure they’ll definitely help!!

How are you just as fast on a supermoto as you are tucked into the aprilia?
@Antprilia.
9 ай бұрын
I’m actually 11 sec faster on the aprilia vs my sumo… I think I can drop my sumo time down by maybe 5 more seconds. I don’t think I’ll be able to get below a 9:20 on my sumo.. hopefully next season I’ll be able to get some good passes in!!!
