sometimes you need them. most times there is a red for + and black for -, but there are some cars out there that they run on a negative power. so marking them on a black with + and red - would help greatly to know what is positive and negative.

Beyond all my expectations. I hit up WireCare as well not just for traffic but to see if they had anything I could use for my audiophile home needs.... good stuff. Will be definitely making an order on some high grade shielding since I haven't seen it available to the general public outside of DoD/Industry. Thanks for the referral.

Mark love your channel! Its really the DIYers paradise in here, BUT, solder doesnt "adhere" theres no adhesives in solder only good old tin and lead, the term which describes the bond between solder and copper or other metals is called "wetting", a quick search will yield all the explanations you need. Pheeew, just had to get it out... :D AWESOME channel man! :)

Some problems with solder are that it's too rigid and doesn't allow for flexing. In the marine environment, it's actually illegal to solder wires together or to terminate with solder. Mechanical connections only. Secondly, flux is a great moisture absorber, which is why fluxed solder has a shelf life. Despite heat shrinking your connections, they will inevitably corrode unless flux solvent and corrosion inhibitors are applied. Other than that I love the vids and phenomenal craftsmanship.
