Okey. After connecting S2400 via usb to PC and asio4all install you need to go Presonus Audio I/O setup (make sure you have the studio one version that allows you to record more than 2 stereo tracks at once). If everything is ok you should have now Isla as usb audio interface. I have this setup: Stereo Input L&R is channel 9-10. Input 1 is Isla 1 mono, Input 2 is Isla 2 mono, and so on but I have added two additional stereo inputs: Input 5 is Isla channel 5 L and channel 6 R and input 7 is Isla channel 7 L and 8 R. In your multitrack windows just add audio tracks with right inputs. I have named every track so it is easier to follow. Activate record and monitor for every track. From mixing window below you need perhaps adjust gain little lower (->| show inputs) for every input track, like -4dB. Tip: Once you have good settings you can make it default and use it fast every time you need. Now back to the Isla machine: press shift + input mon. Scroll down to USB Audio Input. Activate that. Scroll down little more (about 3 steps) and select the output you want. I use Output Jacks 7-8 for my studio monitors, mixer, etc. You can't use HP output here if you use livemonitoring on DAW because audio is going to play two times with slightly delay. You can test. Now. When making your music you need to make sure you are sending your samples to the right channels. ( shift+pad ) output 1-8. That's it. If you get poor or crackling sound you need to adjust your asio latency. I have old laptop and need to use 29ms latency and device block size : 448 samples. Hope this helps. It's sometimes hard to explain but ask if you have problems.

This is how I started using my s2400 too, hybrid fixed all the time consuming aspects of the s24 and added the features I wanted. Using reaper with mine and being able to record a seemingly endless 4bar takes is awesome.

You "lose" the S2400's analog filters this way though, right?
@DJGleam

Yes the fixed analog filters for output 1-2 and 3,4,5,6. But with USB you can use digital lowpass, bandpass, highpass filters with res + new unreleased analog filters. you shouldn't worry about that, because it all depends on how you post-process your music. the outputs compared to the sp1200 are not exactly identical, but with the s2400 you have a more modern approach for filtering and different styles of music.

@@thisen-Nice, great choice! Within a few weeks I will release my new instrumental album on my channel which is produced about 99% with the s2400 sampler, so stay tuned!

Nice..So what is the process of hooking it all up? I have the Roland MV8800 and it directly connects to a mouse and monitor,so how does it work with the ISLA?

i know, awesome device that Roland. I also owned one about 10 years ago. Isla connects to the computer via the USB port. I used Presonus Studio one software. Of course you can make the sequences on the computer as well and send midi data to Isla, but in this case I sent 8 audio channels to the PC and used effects in real time. in addition, I connected midi keys with and played VST instrument tracks. Nothing special, but easy and effective way to use Isla.
