Oh, My apologize for that. The zero scale, even absolutely zero, is fine at most use cases. Especailly Maya would clamp it to 1E-10 when evaluating the inverse matrix to avoid DivideByZero issue. It's actually a warning of Nemo, since it currently may run into the NaN problem when dealing with zero scale. And we're trying to avoid this. Users can turn off the check, just like the video shows, and give feedback to us if met with any problem, which is a rare case also.
