The kings fridges seem ok, I have had one kings for about a year and it goes fine. It is going to have be good to keep up with my 16 year old Engel that has not skipped a beat. So far so good and the kings seems to work fine, as you mentioned keep the volts to them (big cable and good battery for any fridge).

Must say I never thought I would want a fridge until I decided to bite the bullet and get one. Due to my set up I could only go a 30L Drawer Fridge which Kings don't make. Since having it I don't know how I went without. The fridge even for day to day things is so bloody handy. As for Kings stuff I do think you get what you pay for but their stuff seems to be pretty decent value for money over all.

Great video Paul, the kings fridge looks exactly the same as the waeco cf model. I have the cf50 and looks the same just different colour. And yeah same I like the ability to change the lid around but does feel cheap.

good vid mate. I don't think heaps of bells and whistles are necessary on a fridge as it is better to have a Bluetooth setup for your whole battery draw/monitoring? Agree that a split system would be better but these are good value for a casual camper

G'day mate. Just found your channel It's a great channel - short, to the point and interesting stuff. One question you may be able to help me with - extension leads between solar panel and solar regulator next to auxillary battery. What size twin core 6mm or 8 B&S? Length of lead - 1 x 5 metre and another 1 x 10 metre so maximum ever used might be 15 metres but never beeded that length so far. Thanks again for a great channel

Thanks mate 👍my custom extension I made is just 6mm twin core & 10m long. The solar panel doesn't create as many amps as say a charger so there won't be much voltage drop & no issues

I've found the temperatures pretty accurate. I normally leave it around 2 degrees for ice cold beer 👍🍻

you mentioned that Engel was one of the top of the line fridges. Does Engel have a dual zone and/or bluetooth as you stated that was one of the downsides with this fridge?

I mean that more & more of the top trusted brands are coming out with new features all the time. This fridge has been out for a few years now with no upgrades since release

So you got what you paid for. You brought a cheap fridge slide without doing your research. Which then forced you to buy a cheap fridge. And you have had no problem with the fridge. I don't know of any other brand that does dual zone for that capacity?
@Campingdownunder

Cheap fridge slide? Clearview make the best quality fridge slides on the market so how is that cheap? I chose that fridge slide as it matched the dimensions of the fridge when I bought it brand new. The fridge was awesome. I loved it. But now I've changed to the bushman's upright 85L fridge. Now I don't need a fridge slide & save a heap of weight 👍

Obviously you didn't understand how to adjust the power settings. If you have the settings right you'll only average 1amp per hour like I did. My bushman's upright fridge uses more power. I ran this fridge for over 3 years with no issues at all. So your saying someone that doesn't have a lot of money should hold off going outdoors while they spend years saving for the best of the best equipment? Buy once buy right is true but not everyone has an unlimited budget and buy what they can afford. In Australia we are protected with our purchases with warranty. Meaning you don't have to buy the best of the best to have peace of mind.
