We’re trying to find a recent “list” of dorms that people have honest opinions and “ratings” or info.. any suggestions or what do you think are the top 5.. whether traditional or suite style for incoming freshman.. not too loud but not too quiet

Personally, I think that Gabaldon Hall is a good start to look at. It's a suite style dorm. The only cons I could think of is sharing a bathroom with 3 other people. You have to set boundaries right away and when and how you would clean the bathroom. However, I do think it would be a lot better than traditional dorms. Seeing the snapchat stories helps you realize how dirty people are, it really showed me that people don't actually know how to clean up after themselves or at all. The stories I've seen were basically toilette being blown up/clogged by feces or tampons on the floor or even toilette paper. I'm not going to lie, living with people you do not know can cause a lot of conflicts since it you can't exactly tell people that they need to clean up after themselves. I would recommend rooming with a sibling or other close family members rather than complete strangers. I also think it can be okay to room with a friend, but be careful too. If one of you is messy and the other one isn't, you're probably going to view the person a little differently than before. But again, setting boundaries is a great start! As for the noise level, I never had any issues with neighbors being loud. Another thing to note, it is located on south campus.

Hi Im going to NAU in a few weeks and am interested in the ski/snowboarding club! I was wondering do you have any advice for it? Does it come with a season pass or do I have to buy that separately? Thank you!

Hi!! I would definitely suggest to go to true blue connects and join the club on there! Also following them on social media so you can see when club meeting are!! I believe you’d have to buy the ski pass as well.

My daughter is a sophomore transfer student. She started last month and is finding it difficult to make friends. I’m in California and feel helpless because I can’t help her 🥺😢

hii! do you have any tips on saving money on books? i was considering getting all my books on kindle or pdfs online but wasn't sure it was allowed
@HiilaniHelenihi

yes getting books on kindle or pdfs online is allowed!! But I would suggest to wait until classes start and your professor goes over the syllabus because sometimes you don't need the book they mention or even the professor will give cheaper options for the books!!

Hi, how can I know more about dorms and meals. My daughter it's allergic to gluten and some meats so, she can't get a meal plan. Do dorms can have something to cook?. Thanks

I think I heard that some dorms have a kitchen, I think she can make her own food if needed to.

Yes! The apartment styled dorms have kitchens but if that isn't in your tuition budget, traditional and suite-styled dorms have community kitchens that she can cook in.

Hmm I’m not too sure. I would say to contact the administration to NAU as they would be able to fully answer your question!
