Squatting backwards in the rack with socks on slick hardwood is terrifying.

From the USPA rulebook: 4.6.8 After the down command, the bar must be returned to the platform with both hands on the bar without any force or propelling of the bar downward. During the rules briefing, I heard it explained as "no accelerating".

It’s because his arms bent when the weight was on the way down. It makes it look like it was uncontrolled and possibly slammed.

I saw a lot of deadlifts at a couple local USPA meets get red lights for "slamming" that wouldn't have got any reds for it in USAPL. Their rulebook wording makes it a lot easier to get called for slamming a deadlift than USAPL/IPF

Here in Australia at the NSW state championships last year, for the ipf affiliate of our country, so many people got called for “not controlling the decent” to the point where people were actively lowering the bar and a few still got called for it. I was super lucky and pulled a state record without getting called for it but it was such garbage watching so many people getting called for something that isn’t in the rule book. many athletes, handlers and coaches were very upset

Versa Lifts are a good entry point to heel elevation if price is a concern. They're like $30

Lifter #1 & #3 too much weight moving off quads like he said and recruiting back & glutes to get out of hole. But that knee movement in #1 is rly worriesome, probably waay too much weight but definitely the hips and pelvis doing weird stuff.

the bone on my neck is fubar after any squats, im just not big enough to rest it on my lats... any suggestions besides a ... pad :-\
@AdenJay.

I think you mean traps not lats (if high bar) and delts on low bar but id assume you’re high bar if your neck hurts. 3 tips would be: -Play around with bar position moving it down slightly -focus more on retraction of the shoulder blades, pinching them together -you may just be new and need to desensitise / get used to it Tiny people squat huge weights so try not to blame your size and focus on what you can control
