How do I know I'm not using inquiry to get rid of something?

Good question. My answer which may or may not be right is, are you using inquiry when the mind is restless, irritable, discontent and you’re feeling otherwise disturbed? If yes then you’re probably using it to avoid. Thanks for the question because I needed my answer.

I guess you can look into your intention, is it curiousity or resistance?

If you observe yourself pushing and pulling on thoughts/feelings/sensations as you inquire, that usually means there’s some agenda happening. If inquiry helps you let go of contraction around thoughts/feelings/sensations without the push/pull, you’re in a better place. I really like Angelo Dilullo’s videos on self-inquiry, they have some good practical tips
