Great, detailed and robust review. the 24L is definitely a top contender for my next office/light travel bag.

I've been running with the Aer Day Pack 2 for a little over a year now and love it as my office carry pack. The 24L Pro Pack might be the solution to my problems with the Day Pack 2. More room to stuff a jacket and headphones along with switching to a bigger pouch or multiple pouches. Thanks for the vid.

Is the bottom of the main compartment padded? This was the only disappointment in my City Pack Pro. Almost every other bags (most of them 1/2 the price) had padded bottom.

This was a great video that helped me make a couple decisions. Danny, what is the bag that you packed the shoes in? For the life of me I can't read the label on it but looks like a great bag. I don't see it listed in the list of items in the video. Thanks!

Question for you about the straps: the points on the straps that connect to the back itself seem very close to each other. do you find that when you wear the bag up high, that the straps pinch the back of your neck?

Different materials and styling. My first reaction was to sell my CPP and get this, but after taking a pause, the design doesn't really appeal to me, has less organization, and I can deal with only one external water bottle pocket and one handle. CPP 24L is a bit too big for me though, and the 20L Pro Pack is very tempting right now.

@@n2boston I’m in the same boat as you here. Just bought the CPP and it’s a bit too big so the 20L pro pack is appealing. I think most of the pockets in the CPP are ‘either or’ pockets though as there’s 4 pockets on the lid/flap and that can’t get really awkward and heavy. I feel like this bag might make more use of the space. Also the CPP is hunching over consistently for me and I’m not here for it. Let me know what you’re deciding to do!

@@ChrisSpice unfortunately I’m well outside of my return period so I’ll be keeping the CPP. Also, I really like that bag and much prefer the design over Pro Pack. Just wish it were a tiny bit smaller.

At some point, can you go through the different materials and what all the numbers mean? 860, vs 1600d ? Is one inherently stronger or tougher?
@Fnick-dl6pg
Жыл бұрын
840D and 1680D are the yarn size and the higher the number the larger and heavier the yarn, typically in a comparable yarn nylon vs nylon or poly vs poly, the fabric with the larger number will be heavier and stronger against tear, puncture, abrasion.

Great review Danny! I'm headed to SF next week for work and excited to check these out in person. I'm torn between 24L and the 20L. I find that 24L is a bit too small to pack out properly for a weekend trip so I end up having two bags when I fly. But the smallest bag I have is the DSPTCH Daypack which is a 22L so wondering if 20L would be enough... by the way, you mention the 24L is ideal for you and your size. Can you share your weight/height? The part where you show the bag on your back looks nice
@dannypacks
Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I haven’t had a chance to check out the dsptch bag just yet but based on the clamshell layout of the 20l I imagine they can hold a similar amount especially since this one doesn’t like as slim as the dsptch bag. As for my measurements my height is 5’11” and my weight is approx 200 lbs :)

Great breakdown Danny - how much more space (if any) can this 24L pro pack hold than the Bellroy venture pack? Also, which bag would you say this 24L pro pack is closer to in capacity, the Bellroy venture or the Bellroy transit 28L? Thanks!!

hi, thanks for the comprehensive review. i want a bag to take to office and commute. Not sure whether i should go for the 24 or 20L? i am currently using the bellroy venture backpack 22L and the peak design 20L everyday backpack which are more than large enough for my use. Please advise?

I’m in the same boat here and also use the PD 20L backpack. Done some measurements today and the 20L Pro pack works out slightly smaller than the peak design and the 24L slightly larger. I’ve also ordered the city pack pro and thinking of returning it as it fits almost too much, so I feel like the 20L is what I will go for.

Thank you for watching! If the venture and peak designs feel like they offer enough space than I think the 20l pro pack will offer a comparable capacity and the 24l might feel a little too big

I like the style of the City Pack better but I might have to go with this Pro 20L for an EDC…. It’s hard since I’m only 5’4. I think the City Pack is too small and the CPP is way too big for my purposes. Do you have any other recommendations around 18-20L for shorter people? I like the sleekness of Aer’s packs but I’m not 100% sold yet

Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice between the 2. I think it wi come down primarily to aesthetic and organizational preference, for me I like the look of the city pack pro more, but i might lean a bit more towards this one due to the side handle and additional water bottle pocket

Aer usually have packs that are WAY too small. The gym duffel is ridiculously small for it's purpose but the 24l size here looks the opposite and looks like it can fit more than it looks.

Thank you for watching! Both are really great overall, I do prefer the aesthetic of the City Pack but it’s nice that the pro collection (20 and 24l bags) have a clamshell opening and a separate laptop compartment. It’s an even tough choice with the city pack pro which is clamshell and has a separate laptop compartment (of all of them the city pack pro is probably the one I would lean towards but any of them will be a great edc and tech bag)
