She was talking with Donna about one night when her and Jqmes had gone to bed. She had closed her eyes and then realized James wasn't going to sleep, he was just starting at her. She asked him if he was having trouble sleeping, he told her he didn't want to sleep, cause he might my something. Diane asked her if she could use that in a a song. Great story for a great song.

Of course by now you know that the girl is played by Liv Tyler, Steven Tyler's daughter. He is the lead singer for Aerosmith. And of course you know now that her boyfriend lived, played by Ben Affleck. It was her father, played by Bruce Willis that traded places with AJ to stay behind on the Meteor and ignite the Bomb thereby saving earth. He did not live, obviously. A fantastic movie. A fantastic soundtrack. This song which really is the absolute best love song of all time, helped propell Aerosmith back during those horrible days of God forbid Grunge, and opened their music to another entire generation. Of all bands, Aerosmith is one of the most popular, most beloved rock bands that have been together over 40 years. Still going strong & still kicking ass. Seeing them in concert was a mile marker for me 8 years ago! Only the Rolling Stones have been together longer. This song was # 1 for months after the movie came out. It is also one of their staples in concert. The only other rock band that I've seen have a resurgent come back, post their recent retirement in 2015, is Motley Crue. And their reuniting to place with 2 other huge staple, solid rock bands, Def Leppard & Poison next year - 2020 due to the extremely high demand for them from younger generations as well following the release of their movie, The Dirt. Their music saw a 358% increase in streaming after Netflix aired it. The book also has seen a huge increase in sales. The only autobiography I don't have yet is Joe Perry. Lead guitar for Aerosmith. I plan on getting it today. But I hope you've watched Armageddon by now and don't forget to watch The Dirt! 💝

This is exactly what is getting me through my husband's passing. We were riding home from a Mexican place one time, and he told me about a girl he caught looking over our way. Her man was busy on his phone while we were busy talking and laughing. We'd make up silly stories, and then there's all the times we were sitting at the computer. I'd ask him something, and he'd turn to me, laughing, and go 'let me tell you what I thought you said." I don't remember everything said, but it was always off the wall and crazy. While I definitely miss it, I feel blessed that I had it. Kudos to all of you holding onto that kind of love.

I used to think like that about classic movies and actors but I'm saddened by talking to people in their 20s and 30s who don't know who Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart were. Culture (even the guilty pleasures like Armageddon) are not known. I knew the classics of the 30s, 40s and 50s when I was a child in the 70s and 80s so it has nothing to do with getting older and everything to do with the Millennials ignorant of culture prior to the superhero era.
@themaven2017
5 жыл бұрын
@@mortimerbrewster3671 I think it is also that we didn't have as much choice - no cable until teens and then it was only HBO where you could watch a movie more than once on your TV. Weekends and late night played "old movies" and that's how I saw them. Also, film was still considered an "art" that had the potential to be timeless/classic and more recently film has become "fashion" - as in whatever the latest trend is to follow and then move to the next - to be forgotten. Just a constant consumable supply - and studios make more with merchandise, so it is even more about the "after-sales" than the box office.
@mortimerbrewster3671

@@themaven2017 I don't disagree with any of your comments but it doesn't excuse the cultural morons in their 20s and 30s. Those films that were considered art are still considered art but the Millennials are not taught by their parents to appreciate culture. I blame the parents if they have a culturally illiterate child. It may be entertainment but like literature (or other arts) it is reflective of the era and a means to gauge the history and traditions of any given period.

For hardcore. A- Smith fans this, though high charting ( 98 ) is when they went downhill into glossy pop cheese Power Ballad's. This is their only ballad they didn't write write. Their first album was in 1971! They have many ballad's from 70's and Eighties , way way way, greasier and more soulful. Here's is a complete list. 1) "Seasons of Wither" (74) 2) "You See me Crying" {75} 3) " Home Tomight" (76) 4) "Mia" (79) 5)" Joanie's Butterfly" (82) 6) " Darkness" (85) 7) " Angell" (87) 8) "What it Takes" (89) 9) "Dueces Are Wild" (Pump outake) BTW their best post 70's -80's album is hands down " Just Push Play" circa 01 (with the unnesscary addition of cheese ball ballad " Fly Away Home") Fantastic ballads on album " Avant Garden" 🔥 & "Jaded" (sort of Ballad) Suggesting start with " Season Of Wither" reaction!! Oh, my stars. I never looked at it from any other view besides a man or woman to significant other. But when it's brought to my attention it could be from a father to a sleeping daughter or a mother to a child, I went back and thought of the lyrics. Wow, there's no sexual undertones. So it makes perfect sense. Thank you for opening my eyes to other possibilities.

Keep "that moment" close because when they've passed away (as mine has) it is always there.
