Just wanna say man, it's been cool to see you evolve and go from "What in the fuck is he saying?" to actually catching the bars and understanding the imagery. A while ago I made a comment saying it'll just take time to understand Aesops style and his approach to imagery and lyricism, and it's evident that it's started to click a lot more naturally for you. Keep it up!

Dog at the Door is worth a watch! Short, poignant and laced with that Aesop cleverness we all love. All wrapped in an easy to understand flow.

Totally, Aes was in Portland during the BLM protests and he is saying he is down for a revolution. He is letting you know that he will get militant for the cause and not just post empty Tweets. Have you heard a better beat drop lately?

Garbology is the album. Blockhead produced it. He and Aes have been working together for a long time. I recommend checking out Blockhead ft Aesop Rock - Kiss the Cook. The beat is sick. And of course always recommend checking out more off the Garbology album. Try Flamingo Pink, Wolf Piss, or Fizz

I interpreted roof on fire from memory as a one like when people say why did they jump? Well they felt like the roof behind them is on fire. So they jumped. To remember that state continuously from memory is just him saying I'm seriously messed up

My interpretation is that "roof on fire" means "everything is going wrong/falling apart." He's experienced that so much so often it's molded into his memory, so he could easily draw it from memory.

Aes' music requires active listening if you're trying to glean the artistry of his music and especially if you find yourself going down the rabbit hole of dissecting his lyricism (geniusCom is invaluable for this). That being said, my opinion is that videos should always be in service of the music. Most videos are a collaboration with artists of a different medium and their creative influence, symbolism and style can often diverge from the musicians' intent or inspiration that birthed the song. Sometimes we get a video with artistry worth appreciating as much a the song itself or like with Spirit World and Garbology a series of videos that has a strong synergy; and then sometimes you get a video like Aes' Shrunk where the line is blurred and the video has metaphors that add to the song like harmonizing voices in a choir. Hell even in this song the music takes a backseat to his lyrics / delivery and the beat only starts after the 10,9,8 keep your head and arms inside. Either way, thanks for the content.
