to make relearn the computer, after plug back the batterie, put the key on 3 minutes without start the car, after 3minute with ALL Accessories OFF,turn off the key for 10 second, and then, start the car with accessories OFF, and DOnt touch the PEDAL of gas, the computer have to relearn the throttle position ,and lot of stuff,so,let it idling for 10 minutes, and let it sit for the next ride, the car will lean how to set the cpu at speed.

I see you used the RA snorkel to help de-bottleneck potential choke points. (Very clean snorkel by the way. Did you buy it new? That’d be crazy. How much do Mitsubishi dealers charge for that?) Now, one thing you MIGHT want to do, because this is absolutely a known choke point for non-turbo trims: At the front of the snorkel, where the snorkel rests on the radiator top cover trim, That trim has open slits molded-in when manufactured. Those slits’ combined cross section area, is even smaller than the ES snorkel’s inner cross section area. So at WOT, those slits becomes the bottleneck against air flow. Especially now you have gone to RA snorkel, I suggest you to manually cut more slits into that plastic cover/trim. Personally the easiest way I’ve found, is to drill holes that’ll be the two end-stops for each slit. Diameter of the drill bit should be exactly the same as the slit width you want. Then, using Dremel cut disk, cut the edges of each slit until the cut meets the hole. You will want to run your power tools at a slow enough speed so you are cutting and not melting the plastic. If you are melting it, it might appear you’re making faster progress, but the aftermath becomes very difficult to control and quite a mess to clean up.

@@reallifeengineer7214 I bought the snorkel brand new from Mitsubishi at the time for just over $54 after shipping & taxes. I rarely drive my lancer hard so I’m not concerned with any bottlenecks with airflow. I can’t remember the last time I drove at WOT.

2021 I tried to order to our local dealership and they said they don't make Ralliart snorkel anymore and after 2 years of looking for a snorkel, I found one used for $10 super steal. i just have a k&n filter and Ralliart snorkel.

Your setup is probably the better way honestly. To-date, I have not seen any manufacturer of cone-shaped filters publish the actual surface area of their filtrate. Surface area = the cross section available for air to flow through the filter. The greater the area, the better. For cone filters to “make sense” vs the generic/OEM filter, cone filter needs greater area. Otherwise, EVEN IF the cone filter did permit more flow, the only way it got that more flow is by having bigger pores that lets through more dirt & contaminant into the engine.

you should cleAn your throttle body...on the video i saw, it is dirty a lot in the back..it not help the airflow ;)

What submodel is your lancer?

Never saw this filter model intake before, but I like because it is enclosed preventing direct heat from the engine bay reaching the filter. Question - is the heat shield that mounts to the stock airbox metal or plastic

Metal

Metal. That’s how we can hear more sound coming backwards from the engine through the intake pipe. Had it being plastic, that sound would have being muffled just like the factory air box.

This is great! Would it also work for the 2 liter 09' lancer?

idk if it'll fit on the 2.0, but they do make an intake for the 2.0 specifically

Yes it fits. Both the 2.0 and 2.4L naturally aspirated engines share the same throttle body. So the rest of upstream systems in the air flow are also identical.

Does the cold air intake work on my mitsubishi lancer 2008 1.8l

1.8 L would be a different engine. What was shown in this video works with the 2.0L 4B11, and the 2.4L 4B12. The 1.8L… Honestly if that engine uses the same air intake system as the 4B11 & 4B12, then 1) yes it could use this Takeda intake, but 2) why would you bother, the intake for 2.0L/2.4L is not the bottleneck for a 1.8L engine.
